The Elevator PitchFriendships are made with a roll of the dice...unless you roll a 1, and then laughter is made. And mockery. Mockery wins out too.
Rolled a One is a short, self-contained story that explores a new friendship among 5 kids playing Dungeons & Dragons. It has been a real labour of love to create, as I've had to struggle to remember how to conceptualise and create 10 completely new characters, as well as drawing approximately 8 billion leaves and the trees from which they're growing.
If you like adventures, Dungeons & Dragons, dice rolling, role-playing games, and sad artists with repetitive strain injury, then consider supporting this comic.
Most of the money from this Kickstarter will be used to print the comic, stock up on envelopes, and buy a LOT of stamps. Whatever is left over will be used to get some help with colouring the comic, as it takes a heck of a long time.
Ok, so we're burning past the original goal and hitting my £1100 mark real soon. So here we go:
£1100 - Improve the inner pages paper weight and finish. I'll bump it up from 115gsm to 130gsm.
£1200 - Improve the cover pages paper weight and finish. I'll bump it up from 130gsm to 170gsm and add Soft Touch Lamination, cause it sounds real nice.
£1500 - I'll add 8 pages of sketches, artwork and other material and make the book Perfect Bound! (squared off spine rather than just folded and stapled)
£2000 - Character Cards! I'll design and get some cards printed up with various characters from the comic on them (as well as some new ones) so you can use them as visual cues in your own desktop games
Risks and challenges
There are few risks with this Kickstarter, aside from me dying before I finish it (most likely from drawing more leaves). The pages are mostly drawn, I've budgeted for delivery and printing costs, and all that is left to do is colour it, print it, and ship it out.
I have successfully run four Kickstarters in the past and I don't plan on messing this one up.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
