UPDATE! WE'RE FULLY FUNDED! THANK YOU! HELP US HIT OUR STRETCH GOALS!
-If we hit 28.5K, we’ll produce at least seven sketches.
-If we hit 32K, we’ll add at least two more sketches to the block (8).
-If we hit 40k, we’ll make at least nine sketches AND a multi-episode mini series.
-And if we somehow hit 50K, we’ll make a full year of sketches (12) and a multi-episode mini series.
Last Friday night, in the middle of a live stream, we hit our $25,000 goal and passed 100% funded (check out the moment it happened here: https://youtu.be/wOyNPR9WZ70?t=4913). We can't believe we got here so quickly, and we can't believe so many of you are out there supporting us. We're so happy, so grateful and so excited to make these sketches. Like, for real, we're so freaking pumped. We'll be reaching out in the weeks ahead to fulfill all of your rewards, and we'll keep you posted as we move forward.
And to encourage you in this final stretch we're adding two new rewards!
If you jump in now at the $10 level, we'll shout you out in a live stream and send you a handful of limited edition pieces of Chris and Jack artwork for download.
And with limited availability, for $500, we'll send you a special prop from one of our past sketches, along with some autographs and a real nice note!
Again, we really can't thank you all enough, and this is all icing on the cake. If you don't feel like donating anymore (which we totally understand!) feel free to share the campaign to anyone you think might get a kick out of what we're doing.
Thank you thank you thank you!!!! We won't let you down!
Hi there! We’re Chris and Jack! We’ve been dear friends and collaborators for over a decade and for the last three years we’ve been writing/directing/editing and starring in sketches for our Youtube channel.
Since we started the channel, our focus has been on delivering high-quality silliness. We love sketch comedy. We love crafting these odd little worlds and dropping you right in. We love playing with genres, drawing inspiration from our shared passion for sci-fi, heist films, and the like. And we love to sneak in some heart where you may not expect it.
We set out to become better filmmakers, to try to make each other laugh, and to share that with an audience. And to that end, we’ve been incredibly lucky. We’ve found an unbelievably supportive community online. With a little over ninety thousand subscribers, we know there’s a growing fanbase for what we’re doing—finding those people and interacting with them has been awesome. We love making these things and sharing them with you all and we don’t want it to stop.
So we’re reaching out for help to produce a block of 6 new sketches for the channel.
We’re really proud that our stuff feels consistently high quality, but that takes a lot of time and a lot of money. When we’re playing with film genres, high production value, or at least the appearance there-of, really helps you buy in quickly so we can get straight to the funny. We like awesome sets, complicated make-up, sweet visual effects, and, most importantly, a fantastic crew. A huge part of how we get a professional feel is that our crews are always full of actual professionals (a director of photography, gaffer, grips, sound, make-up, post, art department, costumes—whatever the sketch calls for.). We’re in LA and our friends are super talented working pros, and while we’re not paying them anywhere near what they usually make, it’s important to us that we honor their hard work and pay them what we can. And so while we stretch every dollar, and use every shortcut and favor, it all adds up. We’ve been lucky enough in the past to get some funding from outside groups, but the bulk of it has been out of pocket, and we just can’t keep it up right now.
$25,000 would give us a flexible budget to create at least six sketches.
If we can stretch it, we’ll make more. Historically, our average sketch runs us around $3500. There are a lot of costs that are a given for every sketch (equipment rentals, insurance, crew, food), but for everything else we really try to put our money where the sketch needs it most. If we can get away with shooting for free in an apartment, we absolutely will. If instead, we’ve gotta get the perfect warehouse space, great, but then we'll figure out how to make that crazy prop from scratch for ten bucks. Sometimes we’ll sit on a script for a while, waiting until we can figure out how to make it affordably. Like this one:
Thanks to the Youtube Space LA, we got the chance to film for free on a set from Alien: Covenant, so we figured out the rest and pulled out True Friendship, a script we weren’t sure we’d ever be able to shoot. Point being, whatever our budget is, we’re gonna find every way we can to get even more production value on your screen.
With $25,000, we'll be able to meet all of the built-in costs of shooting these sketches and maintaining our channel, have the ability to spring for some special elements if the idea calls for it, and have some contingency funds to deal with all the unforeseen craziness of filmmaking. We'd jump straight to work and bring the channel back in full force this fall.
We're not trying to pay ourselves with this. Whatever money our channel generates right now goes straight back into the sketches. We're doing it because we love making this stuff and sharing it around. And because we get to have days like these:
Thanks so much for considering us!

Risks and challenges
We've made enough of these to know what to expect. As we know that some of them can end up taking longer to complete than we planned, we're not setting a firm release schedule this far in advance. But we're very confident in our ability to deliver 6 new sketches for this budget, and we sure do hope you'll like 'em.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
