ITS NOW OR NEVER! Please vote on my adventure while I make a record and tour across America with my dog. <3
I cant sleep and haven't slept for days. We ended the 48 hour party out of exhaustion and I've lost my mind. Thank you so much to everyone who was a part of the magic.
You and I are the future. The future of art, music, beauty and life manifested. We are brilliant dreams and ideas personified.
My idea that I want to share with you is exactly this: I want to move my life and recording studio into an RV and spend a year traveling across the country with my dog, writing my album and telling my story.
This 12 song album will feature musicians from all over the country. A classic country blues sound with an american folk structure with electronic elements. Weaving the stories of the road with the stories of my soul.
I want you to vote on what I do, where I go, what I play, and how I do it. I have a website called choosingmyadventure.com that will be up and running throughout this process and the tour. Every week there will be new questions to vote on.
Where should I go? What songs should I cover? What should I wear to the show? This is an interactive process that requires your involvement. If there is something you would like to see voted on, let me know!
I humbly come before you, people of Earth, to ask for your guidance and aid on my Hero’s Quest. . .
The blank canvas is America and the paint brushes are my guitar, bass, drums, voice and synths.
I have invested every spare moment of the last four years into this journey. I have spent every last cent I own on building my dream rig. I put it together one piece at a time and its finally all here and now I want to share it with you. This is my calling.
Twenty years ago I joined my first band and started playing out. I did this until I was 18. Then I found poetry, spent a decade doing readings and features up and down the east coast.
Four years ago, I started Dj’ing, making decent money and getting weekly gigs, but it didn't pull my heart strings.
I started messing around in the studio again and came up with:
I had an epiphany to combine all my art into one project and give it my all.
I sold anything I owned of any value, Then invested all of the money back into studio equipment and pieced it together bit by bit.
I was heavily influenced by guys like Beardyman, Reggie Watts and DasFX. They showed me the technology was here to have a feasible one man touring band.
Charles Bradley was of the biggest influences to me, starting his music career at sixty four years old. Putting on better shows than anyone I have seen half his age. He told me I had to love and love honestly and I would find true love.
My true love is music, I am married to is rhythm and blues. My goal is to be an electronic one man blues band.
A friend gave me a copy of the music production software Ableton. I thought using Ableton as my digital audio workstation was going to be my key.
I had two full tables worth of gear and a snake orgy of cables going every direction. It was chaos.
This is one of the first songs I wrote with it:
I played a few gigs with this rig but it was pure madness to set up and tear down. It was rather counterintuitive to the creative process.
The idea of software became less and less appealing. Computers can crash and if they do, unless the information is backed up, its gone forever. Some of my other production friends were getting back into hardware which was also the logical choice for me.
This was the last song I wrote before switching to my all hardware rig:
I went with a Rc 300 boss loop station and a Line-6 Podxt 500 that runs my bass and guitar. I use a Roland spdsx for my drum sampler. I use a TC-Helicons Voicelive2 for all my vocals and strange effects. This all runs into a Kaoss Pad and a Kaossalitor pro.
I played my first show with the new set up after having it only a month. When I finished the show I was offered a monthly at the club. Many small shows later I remembered something my friend and childhood hero Rick Barton ( from The Continental and the Dropkick Murphy's ) told me. "If you aren't touring and new people aren't hearing your music, you are not a band."
This is why you are here. This is when the adventure starts.
These are the the one of a kind 1:1 T-shirts that you could own for just $15. For just $10 more you get one of these babies and an early digital release of the album. You know you want it! GET IT!
If we reach a goal of 10k I will release the album for free, to everyone. The people who donated at the 25 dollar level will get a digital release of the Meep Records album.
How your donation will be appropriated:
- $4-6000 for transportation
Months and months of research later I have narrowed it down between either a Westfalia, A truck with a camper or tow camper.
- $2000 for studio time
This is to rent professional equipment to record the album. I have an engineer that already wants to help record this album. After talking, we realize $2000 is going to be the budget to make the album I want. I plan on releasing the album digitally and putting out a physical copy on a USB drive.
- $1000 for licensing and registration
This is for getting the rv license, registration and setting up insurance. Any left over from this will go to gasoline.
- $1000 for prizes and Kickstarter fees
Kickstarter charges 5% of the goal if I hit it. Some of the prizes have very little profit margin but I want to give you something unique and beautiful!
PLEASE DONATE AND SHARE!

There are potential speed-bumps in creating an album and pursuing dreams at full steam ahead. I am very creative and resourceful so I will find a way to bring all the promises I made to you. I will have this project done within two years. That I can promise.
