Chicago needs a conference where writers can rub elbows with publishing professionals and learn the business end of the craft.
Chicago has long been home to award-winning authors, journalists, historians and bloggers. There are over 50 live lit events every month in Chicago. This city is full of brilliant literary talent.
The Chicago Writers Conference exists to celebrate this talent, and connect writers with publishing professionals. Writers will have the opportunity to learn how to get published, as well as new trends in publishing.
Details: September 14-16, 2012 at the historic (and gorgeous) Tribune Tower.
This conference is for fiction and non-fiction writers as well as poets.
Speakers: We have over 15 scheduled speakers, including Writers Digest Editor Chuck Sambuchino, Award-winning author Christine Sneed, and literary agents from Chicago and New York agencies. Click here for our full list of speakers.
Funds will be used for:
- Equipment rental at the conference
- Web development - including audio, video, registration
- Travel expenses for traveling speakers
