It's very nice of you to ask, but wholly unnecessary. We backed you to succeed, and gencon is a flat out necessity. Of course!

I'm a bit late but want to join in the chorus of "Of course sell!" at GenCon. I wish y'all nothing but success and prosperity.

I love the respect to the Kickstarter family. My vote would be yes to selling the base game
I would also very approve setting aside a certain # for KS backers if they request ahead of time and can meet you at the Con
I would vote no to selling any of the expansions prior to fulfilling all the KS backers.
I also vote yes to altering time and space and mailing out the November shipments early... One can hope... ;)

I have a HUGE amount of respect for a company that is willing to listen to their community even if it were to hinder them from doing what they want. I think the decision is unanimous that you all should definitely sell everything you can at GenCon. Probably the most honorable thing I've thing I've ever seen a company do on Kickstarter! Thank You! Life long customer earned!!!

    5. Thomas Gustafsson on

Go for it! Anyone that can put their eyes and hands on your games at any time should consider themselves lucky!

    6. Geoffrey L. Ruonavaara Jr. on

GenCon is the main event. Go show 'em what you've got and get Triplock in the hands of as many newcomers as you can. Sell, sell, sell.

    7. Joe Kerkhoff on

I think it means a lot that you care enough to ask for permission first (and even potentially not sell if too many backer would be upset). It says a lot about your integrity. Of course, you won't please everyone but if the majority so go for it, go for it.

Oh, and I say "go for it". Happy selling.

I appreciate you guys being upfront about it and asking for input from the backers. I'm happy to support you selling it at Gen Con. The more successful the company is, the more great stuff you'll bring out in the future.

I don't care. It doesn't affect me either way. However, if there are copies available, and it would mean that I could get my items sooner, is it a possibility for backers to pick up their items at GenCon???

I thank you for asking your backers the GenCon question and not just doing it. Honestly, I hate it when this happens, but as long as it is not delaying the delivery of the backer's product and the fact that you were up front and asked us for our input,

I say go for it. Being able to make money is only better for the future of CTG and for us waiting for more expansion and new games.

It has been a joy to support CTG and see your company grow and get some of you into full time game making. I want to see that continue so I can play in all the wonderful worlds you keep making. Gencon is important to that future. Sell. Thanks for asking.

Provided you can honestly say that GenCon sales will not delay delivery to KS supporters or otherwise compromise production, I fully support your GenCon Sales, and any other con sales.

      I don't really care whether the people at GenCon can get it before me, although I do sort of wish there were some parts of it that were "Kickstarter Exclusive," just so I'd still have something to gloat about when I finally get my own copy in the mail. Especially since I only live about 120 miles from Indianapolis, but can't go to GenCon. {sniff} Having *something* to gloat about would be nice… {sob}

    16. Emelie Berntsson on

As an international backer this is really a non-issue for me, Im not able to attend the damn thing anyhow! But I hope you bring enough copies to meet the demand, its not cool to catch interest for a game only to know you can have a copy in 3-4 month or even later than that!

I expect the price to be higher than 22 buck though!

    17. Audrey on

Sell. BUT only if we have pictures of GenCon. And anyway I am going to hate all that will have their games before me, but since I am in Europe it sounds like it will mean already some people, so.... why not add more to the hated list.... ^^

my opinion is that you can sell copies at gencon. I put money in this project because I think it is great and I support you in doing every thing useful for its success, including using the promotional opportunity of the Gencon, it's a one-in-a-year event.

it's different from selling in retails store, that should wait for most backers havins received their copies.

I'm cool with it. I have mine paid for already. This is a busy time for me at work so I don't get much time to play games until after con season anyways. As long as you don't run out of TMB promos there won't be any problems!!..

I gladly support CTG by "allowing" you to sell at Gen Con. After all, my copy is only a few weeks away anyway. The stronger CTG, the more superior product we can expect in the future. Let's hope for a lot of hype at the con.

    45. AlKendi on

Thank you for actually checking with us beforehand, it's a rare but key feature for a successful business.

I do not mind you selling the game at GenCon as long as you'll be at Essen as well (mwahahaha!!) jk of course! :P

Although, I do feel a bit down for not having the opportunity to get hold of CTG promos just because I can't attend GenCon. Ah well, can't have everything ^^, I do understand why you guys do it and I support it, I just wish there was an equal opportunity for Essen attendees. Maybe next year when I can't attend either of the two conventions XD

      Anyway, good luck guys!
