Can I still do this? And how will you know the extra 20 is for the mat? It sure is pretty
Damn i love the mat is very good looking and practice for the game but the cost for shipping is high ... I dont know if i buy it. Is the Dante temptation. Good work guys.
@Joshua: That is correct!
@Marc: Thank you! We hope so as well! :)
@hkitch: We understand. Unfortunately, the shipping amounts are what they are. We are passing through the exact cost estimations of what we are able to do. The only thing left for us to do was to price the mat aggressively and add value to it. We hope you will still find it is worth even all that shipping!
I increased my pledge by $20 for the mat, is that all I need to do?
Everything looks stunning! I did a full pledge... really hope we get to 200K :-)
I dont see most people playing this type of game at FLGS and tournaments, most people will be playing it on dining tables and gaming tables at home or at friends/families homes. Which warrants a wider mat.
The mat is really cool but the shipping cost 18usd stops me to add it.
No Sunny, you're not the only one. The mat is so awesome. Unfortunately $38 is just too much. That's $52NZD for me. The price of a decent game here. It's the postage that will stop me. $3 postage for the cards is cool but $18. I can't pledge for something that may or may not be less when the campaign is finished.
Am I the only backer not picking up the deluxe mat? I've got a large, generic Ultra Pro mat which serves me well for all my games.
Wow, so much value is ridiculous.
It's recommended to leave off the extra shipping charges for the moment and let the pledge manager sort them out. The shipping on the mat by default adds in another $18 and $3 for the cards. You might save money by doing that later.
@Jill $74 by my reckoning, $22 for Triplock + $12 shipping + $20 for the extra cards + $20 for the mat.
Oh, yes boys, I'm on it! That playmat for $20 is fantastic!
It's a great and innovative idea for sure, nevertheless the price in EU is $32... this shipping costs are killing everything (not only in this context)...
I really wasn't going to get this. But you've got me. The fact it has a solo side...
So I have pledged $57 for Triplock + 3 packs(including shipping to Aus) and added $20 for the playmat to bring me up to $77. Please let me know if that is the final correct amount for everything to Aus, so I will not need to make a second transaction.
You guys should add a "get everything tier", it'll be less confusing :)
@John That's perfect.
So, I just added $20 to my current pledge, is that correct, I should I wait for the pledge manager to add the money? The play mat looks solid!
@Yanick We are currently testing tubes now. The only time you see sticking is if the tube overall is just too small (which it won't be) or if, as you mentioned, you wrap the mat with the sticky part facing outward (which there is none with this mat). So we are liking the one we posted already.
Just to confirm, yes, the tube length is going to be approx 19".
As with Bones guys you are really tough with my wallet...Lol... I had the mat included prior to this but interesting details confirming my choice... Quick question about the tube for storing it. Maybe the double-sided mat will solve the issue but usually round tubes are preventing the neoprene mat to get out easily (it sticks to all sides). Oval or diamond shape is normally better... Thoughts?
@MentatYP The mat is 18"*26", so I think the tube might be probably between 18" and 19"?
You pushed me over the fence! The two-sided print and tube did it for me, pledge updated. :)
I usually hate add-on mats because they don't fit in the box, so they're outside the box collecting dust. Including a tube for storage is brilliant and has suddenly put me on the fence whereas I was 20 feet away before :)
How long is the tube?
I pledged the game and the mat both in the first time, now I'm confident in my decision is right ;)
@Karsten - We tested it thoroughly and stitching around the Master Lock die-cut did not work, it made the map not lay on the table flat and created some other issues. We've done die-cutting neoprene before for Too Many Bones. In Bones, you're constantly taking and removing dice out of the die cut slots, non-stitched, and our mats are no worse for wear after significant play-time. It does require we use a higher quality fabric, but there is no need to worry about wear and tear.
@Karsten: I mentioned the same thing in the main comment section, here was the response:
"we actually ran multiple tests on the inside edge and the results were not great. It's much harder to do and if it can't be done well, we don't want to do it. Also the stitch on the inside would create a much more uneven fit for the Master Lock.
This is also why we have not entertained stitching the Master Lock itself. Stitching works great on larger mats, but when used on smaller mats, it causes the mat to ripple and not lay as flat.
We have definitely done a lot of testing in this regard, and what we are presenting is the best of all worlds in our opinion. Again, thanks to those who suggested the stitching, it is going to look awesome!"
Given that things will be stuck in and taken out of the centre, double stitching around the inner window is even more important than around the outer circumference of the mat, in order to prevent damage to the inner border or ripping in the corners.
Ohhh I get it~! The thing that fits in the middle of the deluxe mat is the smaller mat / master lock! Gotcha. Probably will add the mat
Beat you again Ghillie. ;)
@Remco - Trevor is correct, Master Lock Mat (standard with every game, comes rolled in a small tube) fits in the box, Deluxe Mat does not.
@Chase - You can do it either way. There will be time to use Pledge Manager at campaign's end to add anything you'd like. However, if you'd like to help everyone hit the stretch goals during the campaign, you can add funds to your pledge now.
@Chase either works, you can add the extra money now or after the campaign. We would prefer now, because it helps everyone reach the last stretch goal.
In the stretch goal section, it says that we can "manage" our pledge and get the add-ons after the campaign is over. Do I need to physically go in before the campaign ends and add $10 for the expansion and add $20 for the two-sided game mat in order to get them, or do I wait until the campaign ends to add the unlocked add-ons?
But, but...I wanted to go pick up add-ons for Too Many Bones! The playmat, or Ghillie?! Aaaaaagh!
@Remco: The Master Lock fits in the game box. The Deluxe mat does not.
Sold! $20 added :)
I'm not sure if I am just a bit dense but in the last update it says everything except for the deluxe play mat will fit in the box.
Then I look at the images of the stretchgoals and I can clearly see place for a game mat. Is there a basic game mat in the game already? I am a little confused right now.
Oh, and making it future compatible too.
I was actually on the fence, but no more.
Double sided and die-cut to fit the basic mat is just a genious way to handle the issue with the mat otherwise not gripping.
Changed my amount up by $20! Hope that does the trick for the premium mat!
@Michael: Somewhere on your pledge it should say "Manage Pledge". Click it and simply increase the number by $20.
I can't raise my pledge by $20.00 for the mat. Any help? Thanks
Could you please indicate, how long the tube for the mat will be?
I really love it, but stowing a tube is much harder than stowing a case, and there isn't much free room in my games-cupboard
Love the mat, adding it to my pledge!
The Deluxe Playmat looks great!
@Keith - Sadly, Too Many Bones Premium Health is *still* the only way to avoid a life of regret ;-)
However the Deluxe Playmat is actually great at helping cure indigestion.*
*This is a lie
I rarely see a playmat this well crafted. This is the first double-sided mat I've seen as well. The design is straight-forward, intuitive, and sticks with the Triplock theme. Well done! I'm sold.
Yes, but will it help you avoid a life of regret?
