Possessing the crystal that almost killed the lives of the brave crew of the KSS Nimross, Special Investigations and Tactics officer Natalie Puccile is on the run from those she once served alongside. With nothing but the scraps of information from her previous investigation, Natalie is forced to scour the galaxy for hints of the truth and support from those who trust in her. What is Rising Angels: Fates?
Rising Angels: Fates is the proposed sequel of the yuri visual novel, Rising Angels: Reborn. Fates is the direct sequel and continues the story of military investigator Natalie Puccile as she dives further into the mystery of the ancient artifact revealed during the prequel.
The purpose of this kickstarter is to fund Rising Angels: Fates. In the past, IDHAS Studios has always fronted the costs of development. However, hard times have fallen upon the producer and financier of IDHAS Studios and we have turned to you, our fans and the general public, for assistance to help continue making the stories we love to tell.

What will the gameplay be like?
One of the biggest complaints we heard about after the release of the original game was that people wanted more impact upon the story. In a visual novel, this is an understandable request and one that we want to take to heart. From stage one of initial development, we wanted to better harness the strength of visual novels and increase the interactivity. To do that, we have broken the game into two distinct types of sections, story sections and investigations sections.
In story sections, it will play out like a traditional visual novel. While a lot less interactive than the investigative sections, there will still be choices in the story sections. These choices will more likely be about Natalie’s relationships with the crew and their day-to-day lives during the investigation. These choices will have an indirect impact upon the story, however. Your relationships with the crew can turn friends into enemies or make the insidious threats less likely to sabotage your endeavors. When you are a government special investigator, the right person can make or break your quest.
In investigation mode, you get a lot more hands-on into the mysteries surrounding the crystals and the players seeking them. Investigation mode will allow you to interact with your surroundings, finding clues and unearthing new evidence that may lift the shroud around the events that are transpiring. With these clues, you will be able to gain light from those around you or push the right piece of evidence to force those who would work for evil back into the shadows. However, tipping your hand at the wrong point or pressing your allies too hard could easily undo everything you seek to accomplish. A good investigator will have to know when to let the little fish get away to snag the big one. Blindly shoving your evidence under the noses of everyone and hoping they react isn't going to keep Natalie's goals secret for long.
Could we see some examples of the upcoming art so far?
The part that everyone here is interested in! While I won't bore everyone by restating everything mentioned on the side, I will explain a few of the more unique items
- Kickstarter bonus story: Donating to IDHAS in our greatest time of need... I can't stress it enough how grateful I am to every donator. To that end, I will be adding a special short kinetic novel following the tail (love that pun) of Faye Moonfallow as she tries to meet back up with Natalie and goes on a wild adventure through space.
- Expanded Codex: I've been writing in this universe for about 14 years. There is a lot of lore that, while interesting, is only slightly related to the story at hand. This codex will be a compilation of notes and adventures for those of you who want to see more of this long and epic journey.
- Short stories: To help get into the heads of my characters, I often write short stories involving their past. For the first time, you will get the chance to read some of these back stories and alternate universe tales!
- Dakimakura: What anime project would be complete without a body pillow? While the Natalie one is still in development, I can share one-side of the Faye dakimakura! The other side isn't so... family friendly for this family friendly kickstarter, so you will have to check it out on Tonee89's page!

Risks and challenges
Our biggest issue is the one that faces all developers, time management. It is very, very easy for time to slip away as development ticks on, resulting in missed deadlines. While we can't give a 100% guarantee, we have taken several steps to mitigate any possible delays. Having developed and been a part of a dozen visual novel projects, I have a very accurate sense of how long each individual step of the process takes. With that experience, I have worked out a timeline to ensure that not only will the project be completed on-time, but perhaps even a little bit sooner.
