About

Chi Chi is a short film written and directed by Chelsey d'Adesky. The film will be produced by her productions (her-productions.com), 432films (432films.com) and The London Film School.

Chi Chi  is a coming of age of story set in the environment of excess, luxury, and fast paced style of 80s Miami. The story follows Ava as she makes an attempt to step out on her own, and subsequently begins losing control. In this loss she finds her strength and is able to protect herself when the pressure is on.

The tone will be upbeat, energetic, colorful, and visceral. We will move through time quickly and with intention both visually and dramatically. The film will be shot in Miami, with stylized 1980s production design, costuming and a lush jungle-like, tropical backdrop, muted color palettes, and bold prints.

MONEY

Every dollar donated will go directly to the film budget. We are almost there but need this amount more to cover the most appropriate camera equipment and post production. For camera equipment our biggest cost is lenses, lighting and film processing and development. In staying true to the look and feel of the time, we are hoping to use vintage lenses and shooting on 16mm film to achieve a moodier look. On post production we need funds for: editing, color grading, sound mixing, and ultimately film festival submissions. Any help would be so greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much!

Risks and challenges

Some risks on the project are achieving authenticity to the 80s time period, having enough funding for post and film festival submissions. Thankfully we have amazing local consultants to speak to the genuine nature of the time period and have broken out a very detailed budget ahead of time that should cover all of our needs.
