About this project
Backerjack - "It’s hard not to get ideas of how to use these tags to surprise friends and loved ones."
CoolPile - "TagTalk brings gift tagging to the 21st century."
Until now, you have been handwriting wishes on a paper card. We all love that warmness. But what if you can also integrate a personalized, full-of-fun, multimedia greeting?
TagTalk can make you a paper-based message that includes photos, voice and video. When paper meets technology, it's time to let go limitations and show your affection with a digital surprise!
NFC (Near Field Communication), is a new wireless technology found in many novel applications, such as touch-less credit cards, transit passes, and smart posters.
TagTalk is now adding an interactive "heart" to traditional medium of paper. Our creatively designed NFC- and QR code-enabled tags and cards combined the interactiveness of virtual greeting with the personal touch of hand-written product. Get ready for the best greeting experience!
Each TagTalk product contains an embedded "NTAG203" NFC chip, which is compatible with all NFC phones in the market. With a simple tap using an NFC-enabled smartphone, customers can store or retrieve the greeting message embedded in the chip.
For iPhone or other non-NFC smartphone users, a QR code and an 8-letter serial code will be found on the back, providing access to the same message.

Download our free app (in development) from App Store on iOS, Google Play on Android or BlackBerry World on BlackBerry 10.
Activate by 1) tapping the NFC chip, 2) scanning the QR code, or 3) looking up the serial code on the back of the tag.
Upload or generate pictures, audio and video to create a personalized interactive greeting.
Attach the product with flowers or gifts, or send out directly. As a security option, the sender can set a question for the product so that only the intended recipient can access the protected greeting.
Upon receiving the gift, the recipient can view the recorded message using the aforementioned three methods from any mobile devices, without download our app. A "Direct-reply" function will be provided to send a real-time notification back to the sender.
TagTalk's four packages of 12 unique NFC and QR code gift tags are very versatile and come in a variety of styles, colours and themes – they are wonderful companions for gifts and greetings for any occasion!
Back our campaign to preserve your one-and-only live greeting in a beautiful lasting token.

Fund Allocation and Current Status
The majority of the allocated fund will be used in the production cycle, in essence, to mass-produce the tags with qualified NFC and gift tag manufacturers. We will also use the fund to assist with accessing local markets, organizations, and networks, with a vision that one day, you will be able to purchase our tags directly from local retailers.
Our mobile app is currently in beta. The development of the backbone infrastructure as well as the iOS and Android apps will be completed by the time we ship our first tags to you. A consistent and elegant UI design will be used throughout both mobile platforms.

Risks and challenges
TagTalk is a novel product that combines traditional gift tag with cutting-edge NFC technology. Therefore, we plan to work with the best-qualified manufacturers to mass-produce these amazing tags. That is our primary reason for reaching out to you and seeking your generous support to help us reach the minimum orders required to create a new process.
We currently have a set of targeted manufacturers; however, in the event that we have to find alternative chip or tag manufacturers, our shipping date may be delayed. If, by any chance, this occurs, all KS backers will receive regular updates with detailed explanations and proposed solutions.
Using best efforts, we will utilize materials that resemble the prototypes in our photos. However, depending on the availability of each material at the manufacturer, the final products may look slightly different in colour, shape, size and texture.
Our team consists of experienced mobile and web software developers; however, we are a small team with resource limitations. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, we are confident that we can complete the technical development (i.e. apps) by our estimated shipping date, which will be August 2014.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
