Name that crone!
Season's Greetings, backers.
We hope you're all enjoying your copy of Hoard. It has been released in the Australian and New Zealand markets and is selling well in both. See here for our retailer list.
Hit Point Sales is our North American distributor. Their edition will likely release in January--the copies are waiting to have dice swapped out. In the meantime, copies from the Kickstarted run, with all the deluxe stretch goal features, are available to be ordered and sent worldwide from SchilMil Games. Please share that link with any friends who might like to order a copy of their own. If they act very fast, it's even possible they could have Hoard for Christmas; NZ Post usually takes 3-10 days to deliver. SchilMil also stocks all the other titles I have been involved in publishing.
Today is my birthday so a perfect day to launch a little contest as a thank you to Cheeky Parrot's backers and other fans. I'll also make an announcement tomorrow on social media, but I thought I'd give our backers a head start plus a special chance to submit two entries.
By now, you've all discovered the secret surprise stretch goal was a seventh character. I call her the crone, but I think it's time to give her a proper name--or names: a few of our characters have a first and last name. Have you got a funny one to suggest? Post it in the comments below. You can enter a second time with a different unique name on Facebook once the contest is live there. Enter by 5 pm Tuesday, December 20 (NZ time). Tim, Beck and I will pick our favorite to win the grand prize, then I'll draw three other winners randomly. I'll announce the winners here and on Facebook in a week's time.
The grand prize winner will receive their choice of a one-year membership to Board Game Arena* or a copy of one of Cheeky Parrot's other published games, sent anywhere in the world. The three runner-up winners will be invited to supply some photos so we can create a holiday-themed JibJab video for each of them. There's a sample of one of these up now on our Facebook page. It stars characters from each of our four games. JibJab videos are my kind of goofy.
I can't wait to see the names people come up with!
In other news, thank you to the Indie Game Report for their review. We're expecting a few more reviews in the new year. We can confirm that Tom Vasel of the Dice Tower has received his copy (you'll note it's the North American edition):
*For those who aren't familiar with it, Board Game Arena is a website that connects live players from all over the world to play electronic versions of popular games. They have a wide selection including traditional favorites like Backgammon and Hearts. I like to drop in sometimes for a game of Stone Age, Tobago or Tokaido--you can find me there under the handle, Schil. Maybe someday Hoard will be available on BGA...
