Dice, Dice, Baby!
Apologies, but I'm sure you might have guessed I'd eventually use that line. And beware, there is also a cringeworthy pun ahead.
The replacement dice were received by the Whatz factory two days ago, and they were able to quickly sort and ship off the quantities needed by my American and Australian distributors. Cheeky's shipment is also on its way; FedEx expects to deliver it by close of business on Tuesday. We are ready at this end, having addressed the mailers and bubble-wrapped the games for our backers in New Zealand and Australia. All we will have to do is add the dice, seal, and post off. I've even lined up some free labour to help with the task: my son gets home for the summer from university tonight--pause to let the Northern Hemispherites catch up! I know they may have gotten stuck back there on "summer" :)
It will take Whatz a little longer to prepare the dice for Send From China because these will need to be individually bagged and bar-coded. Remember, if you want to play your game with your Kickstarter commemorative munted die in the meantime, take a 1 whenever a 6 is rolled.
As for the cringeworthy pun, next Saturday we will celebrate the launch of Hoard with a tournament at Board Games by the Bay. This family-friendly board-gaming weekend is held twice a year in Auckland, once in Hamilton, and run by one of our online retailers, Seriously Board.
Adventurers partaking of our Hoardament (groan) will play four rounds, with the top treasure-snatchers squaring off in the finals and the winner choosing his or her favorite of Tim's three different, limited edition, signed digital prints (we made a few extra for occasions like this).
I hope to see some of you there!
