Shipping Update

Hang in there, dear backers :-)

How well does this image go with "hang in there?"
How well does this image go with "hang in there?"

And the shipping continues...

Since our last update, we have received the canvas style and leather straps, and we are continuing to ship Rebel-DDC July watches containing those straps. And now for an update on the rest of the babies...

Why the delay?

We pride ourselves on being one of the most transparent Kickstarters and always strive to keep our exact promises to our backers. We're sorry if some of our previous updates appeared a little bit vague, but the production dust had not yet settled, and we had to wait for a clearer picture to provide you with precise data.

The production of our watches has taken longer than expected. As we are sure you know, we are working extremely hard to get everything out to you guys asap. One thing is for sure, when you get your watch, you will be blown away and will have one heck of a unique timepiece to flaunt around town.

We thought we had approximated the "estimated delivery times" correctly, considering that this is our third Kickstarter project. But... Every project has a life of its own. Indeed, while this is our third campaign, the Rebel is remarkably unique and particularly challenging because it's not only rectangular but also curved.

Simply put we can attribute the delays to the following factors:

  • The curved sapphire crystal production time took three weeks longer than anticipated
  • Delay in delivery of automatic movements
  • Some of the cases did not pass pre-assembly QA, and assembly cannot start until all the parts are ready for the production run
  • The Rebel-GMT is most delayed because it was added in middle of the live campaign and was, therefore, last to go into production
  • Backers did not complete their selections in a timely manner.  This creates a problem: Why should the backers who completed their selection on time be delayed because of some backers who failed to do so? As in previous campaigns, this is a problem for which we have yet to find a solution.

Estimated Arrival and Shipping Dates

  • The Rebel-A: Assembly is set to begin this coming Monday and should be completed by November 15th.  We should have all watches in by November 25th.
  • The Rebel-AC: Assembly is slated to begin on October 30th and should be completed on November 20th. We could have all the watches in by November 30th.
  • The Rebel-DDC (non-July): Assembly is set to begin November 25th and should be completed by December 10th. We should have all watches in by December 20th.
  • The Rebel-GMT: Assembly is set to begin November 30 and should be completed by December 15th. We should have all watches in by December 23rd.

We are working tirelessly to speed up the estimated delivery dates.  Watches will be dispatched to backers as they are received. We will continue to update you with concrete times as we get closer to each receiving time frame.   We do apologize for the delays, but compromising on quality is not up for discussion :).

International Backers - Important!

International backers should be aware of the information located at this link regarding their shipping and tracking information. Please take a moment to read that information, it will be beneficial to you, and may save you time reaching out to us with questions regarding your tracking information :).

Change of Address?

As we do not have exact shipping dates currently, what should you do if you're not sure where you will be (home or out of town) when your watch does ship to you?

We do recommend you choose a shipping address at which packages can be accepted anytime, even if you are out of town (for example, your work address, the work address of a friend, or the home address of someone you can trust).

For address changes, please email info@LIVwatches.com using the subject line: "ADDRESS CHANGE" and specify the email address associated with your order, your old address and your new address.  A member of our team will confirm that they have received your address change within a week of you sending the email.

Final Word - Thank YOU!

Nothing gives us more pleasure than seeing our fans wearing our incredible timepieces. We have nothing but gratitude for you guys for helping us bring this killer watch to life. You guys will go absolutely BANANAS when this baby arrives at your doorstep.

In the meantime, we're here for you!

As always, all backers should feel free to contact us via the live chat at http://rewards.livwatches.com or via phone +1 718 548 9282 for urgent requests.

Have a great weekend,

Team LIV

@KennyKen Sure - we posted an update this morning https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/chazanow/the-most-rebellious-swiss-automatic-watch-ever-liv/posts/2063102 - here's the crux of it:
The Rebel-ACs are arriving here in Miami this coming weekend, and we'll be beginning shipping on Monday.

To get your watches to you before XMAS, we have hired some extra help including some local Miami LIV fans, which will help to expedite all these shipments.

Shipments will go out in this order: international followed by domestic, to ensure that our overseas customers get their watches before XMAS since the lead time is longer.

Everyone here is super pumped to get these babies out the door, and we are preparing this week for the massive shipments that will go out next week.

How do I request a refund, I feel this project may never come to completion. Sorry but I’ve lost all confidence in any possible delivery date your updates have hinted at.

    12. Cor Bergshoeff on

To all the whiners: Please have a little patience. If you want a watch instantly go to a regular watch shop. This is Kickstarter for crying out loud!!! And to all the LIV Watch workers: keep up the good work. and please do not let these whiners get to you and don't sacrifice quality for speed. Cheers ;-)

@Donald Shinn Thank you for your comment. We do apologize for the delays :(. We are talking Dec 2017 :). We have requested that backers post photos of the watch for all to see... hopefully we will see some posts shortly. Here's a review just posted on our wall by a backer named Scott:
"My watch was just delivered by the postie - unpacked in record time (very impressed with the packaging guys :) ) - what an ABSOLUTE CRACKER!!!!! I’ll admit that I was ever so slightly guttered when July came and went but the end product that’s just been delivered and now on my wrist - well worth it! What a good looking quality watch. I’m going to have a lot of jealous co-workers when I’m back in the office tomorrow lol." - hope that helps!

@Phil bailey Thank you for your comment. It's difficult to understand though. Please email us at info@LIVwatches.com - thank you!

While understanding delays beyond your control happen, with a project of this scope it should have never happened! Your ordering process is one that was invented in Hell to torment those of us that bought your product!
Quartz movements should not be a problem which brings up the question why the DDC are among the last to be built & shipped!? December 2017 now is your goal?! I hope you are not talking December 2018 as the way this project is going you do not instill confidences in your ability to deliver the goods! Could some one that has actually received a watch post a photo?

      Jacob Mey on

Thank you - I forgive you - now get me that watch as soon as you possibly can!

    19. LIV - Swiss Watches 4-time creator on

@Jacob Mey Well said. And I'll use most of your 2 sentences: Yes, you're right guys, we should never have blamed you for delays - contributing factor or not. We take that back because as you pointed out, the problem lies with our production and not with you as a customer.

    20. Missing avatar

      Jacob Mey on

Ok - thanks for the reply to my commment. It does little, however. Please realize when you put up on your update that backers are part of the problem for the delay - you need to own that and say "Yes, you're right guys, we should never have blamed you for delays - contributing factor or not. We take that back, because as you pointed out, the problem lies with our system and not with you as a customer."
An apology that comes with 'if it appeared as if', sends a message that you don't fully agree, that your statement, that backers not figuring out your system in a timely manner contributed to the delay is the same as putting blame on your customers. Moreover, it sends a message to us that we should quit whining about the delays cuz we are partly to blame for it ourselves. It's ok that things don't always work out the way they're supposed to - it happens all the friggin' time! What is not ok, is being vague, opaque and then trying to drum up excitement with silly gifs as if everything is just fine. You might as well send us some lollipops to make us feel better - you get it now?
I'm sure a lot of us would just prefer a straight answer to WTF is going on with your supply line. I just don't buy that issue with the Sapphire glass - any good manufacturer of such glass can tell you how long these take to produce, unless you are using a third rate company whom does not know what they are doing.
Own the f*ckups and communicate that to us w no makeup - that's real and respectable.

    21. LIV - Swiss Watches 4-time creator on

@Jeff Greth Thank you so much for your understanding, it is greatly appreciated :).

    22. LIV - Swiss Watches 4-time creator on

@Liv S*cks Thank you for your comment. We do apologize for the delays and for not communicating it earlier. We were waiting on a lot of different pieces of information together, and they did this week, and so we were able to provide a clearer picture with precise data now. We are trying to hurry the process up as much as possible so that you can get your order sooner, rather than later. Either way, we appreciate your feedback.

    23. LIV - Swiss Watches 4-time creator on

@Jacob Mey Thank you for your feedback. We do hold our backers in the highest regard, and apologize if that hasn't been communicated effectively through the updates. As mentioned in our comment to @Warren Kerr - We do apologize if it appeared that we are blaming backers, we so appreciate you guys and the support with which you have provided us. Obviously, if that was the only factor, you would have your watches by now, so it is certainly not your fault. We mentioned it as one contributing factor, sorry it came across like that! We are working to hurry the process up as much as possible, but want to be honest about the possible timeframes. Thank you again for your comment, your feedback is greatly appreciated.

    24. LIV - Swiss Watches 4-time creator on

@John Crouch Thank you for the feedback, it is appreciated. We are working hard to get the watches out to you all as soon as possible but just wanted to provide realistic timeframes. We are hopeful that you will be delighted with your purchase, and that it will have been worth the wait. Either way, we do wish we didn't have to wait, and we do apologize for the delays!

Hi Guys... .you are letting us down!! It's obvious you don't have control over your suppliers...... remember your success depends on reputation of product and service. You definitely should not be blaming backers for your failure to deliver to others. That's your problem not ours. Hyping up the watches on your updates while again putting them further from reach with difinitive delivery date just makes me more annoyed. I am so disappointed I now have to purchases another Christmas present for my son. Action required now please. Put more overtime in and promise it will be with Customer before Christmas!!

    27. Missing avatar

      John Crouch on

Come on guys - what you are doing isn't rocket science. Your supply chain is incredibly bad with constant delays. I fully expect to now receive my watch in 2018 which is shocking considering it should already be on my wrist.
As for quality of the end product I will reserve judgement. However writing comments that you will go bananas for them is only setting you up for a fall.
What I do know is I will never place another order with you as you are by the far most incompetent company I've dealt with this year. Not so much team LIV but team SPIV.

    28. Missing avatar

      Jacob Mey on

I agree - updates were vague teasers - as if we are stupid little kids who don't understand anything - it's all 'should be completed', could be completed' - no firm comitted dates (they have changed all along anyway)
It's just frustrating that you don't have a handle on your 'real' delivery and shipping dates. Or, maybe you do?- In which case it is all the worse.
A really low point is when you put up backers as part of the reason for the delay - it's the way your ordering system is set up you should blame - not your customers.

What the F*CK?! December 20th?! Stop sending those f*cking "updates", only makes one more and more F*CKING angry.
I would go F*CKING BANANAS if you COULD F*CKING DELIVER THE WATCH instead of writing all those F*CKING updates.

My order says its just awaiting "minor components" before "start picking" and now thats changed to assembly to start november 25th?! What THE F*****CK. So that status has just been a damn hoax for the last months....???

      Dennis Morales on

Same question but with AC and GMT???

I can't wait to see all of those curves!!! LOL! As with me, I'm ok with waiting, I'm a 2nd time LIV owner and I know what I'm waiting for... so you guys do your thing! I'll go ahead and buy myself a cheap G-Shock to play with while I wait for the real thing! LOL!

    33. LIV - Swiss Watches 4-time creator on

@Jeff Greth We hear you!!! Since they arriving in such close proximity to each other, it wouldn't make sense to split shipments. Either way, we are not splitting shipments because that would cause further delays due to processing times for other backers :(.

Those of us with an AC and A - does this mean I have to wait for BOTH to be ready to receive them, or can I please get my AC before my A? I'm dying here.....
