@Andre We do ship overseas all the time and have the process down to a science so that fans pay a minimal amount of duties. We cannot mark items as a gift, even though technically it is a "reward" or "gift" in exchange for a pledge made on Kickstarters. Customs officials do see that it is being shipped from a company (and not Grandma Betty) and therefore take the liberty of assigning an arbitrary value to the item, which is usually much higher than we complete the customs declaration. @Tony, can you please explain why that would be dishonest? I've received goods from kickstarter before as "gift" out of the creator's own initiative. So I really can not see how this is dishonest and would be grateful if you could clarify. Of course I would not have asked so if I believed it to be a dishonest deed. I believe this to be a common practice when dealing with overseas shipments.
Duty/taxes are not always small as you say (I myself have experienced 60% import tax on something that was not a luxuty good)
Andre....please don't ask them to be dishonest, if the small amount of duty/taxes is affecting your life, maybe you should not be buying watches on Kickstarter.
On the topic of minimization of charges/taxes over imported goods. Would it be possible to send the products under the classification of "gift" ?
I believe that this alone would be enough to minimize, if not exclude, the charges.
@David Garcia Yes, as per the information provided during the campaign:
Will I be charged duties/customs when I receive my reward?
Some countries charge an import duty for purchasing an item from overseas; we wish we had the power to eliminate that tax or charge, but unfortunately, we don't :(. We will do everything we can to minimize the amount you will need to pay, but we can't guarantee how much you will need to pay. That's why we offer free shipping to international customers, to offset the cost of duties that your respective governments may charge you.

@Thomas Yes our updated user's manual will soon be available online, we're just finalizing that :). Also, every watch will come with a "Quick Start Guide" with directions. We certainly would consider a diver's watch.
Okay good to know.. hopefully your going to send detailed instructions of what to avoid when using the chrono to ensure the movement doesn't get damaged .. question for you guys. Would you ever consider creating a diver watch?
@Thomas Yes, you should always operate the chrono correctly, as it was intended to be operated. Yes, there is always a risk of damaging the movement from improper operation. Hope that helps!

This is my third watch from the LIV guys and I've found they're totally thorough and honest.
Their communication is second to none on KIckstarter and they always inform us of where they are and if there are any delays as soon as they know.
Remember these watches were only promised for September delivery so they've not broken any campaign promises here they've just go ahead of themselves and got caught out by their own enthusiasm
My guess is they were hoping for a late delivery for the now delayed shipment but be assured these watches are worth waiting for. Both my previous LIV watches have exceeded my high expectations with the workmanship of the watches, straps, accessories and presentation cases being comparable and indeed better, in my experience, of some watches costing many thousands of dollars/euros/pounds.
These guys are a great example of how Kickstarter campaigns should be run with their transparency and honesty not of course forgetting living up to and exceeding their promises of quality products.

Does the chrono come with a fly back?
This will be my third watch from Liv - my original delivery date was September. I would be delighted if it were earlier but can certainly wait until September.
These guys watches are excellent and well worth the wait.
I have backed another watch via Kickstarter and sadly it appears to be a scam which is now obvious when you compare the LIV updates with the others' updates.
