Use the freshest, tastiest ingredients to make the biggest, most mouthwatering, gourmet burgers around. Satisfy your customers to earn prestige and become the best burger restaurant in town.
Burger Up is a burger building game, of epic proportions, for 2 to 4 players. Match ingredients to build burgers, renovate your restaurant and earn Prestige tokens to win.
Every ingredient card in Burger Up contains two completely different, individual, ingredients. Rotate each card to select which one you will use for your burger. Finding that perfect combination is how you complete burgers and take top buns before your rivals.
Each ingredient placed determines the next type of ingredient required. Match the symbols as you continue to build your burger, but plan ahead and choose carefully as you can't move them later.
Some ingredients are also better than others. You know when the beef patty on your burger is cooked to perfection and the lettuce is extra crunchy, leaving your mouth watering for the next bite? These are "Perfect" ingredients and they earn you a bonus when scoring. There aren't many, so putting them to good use when they show up is vital.
As a gourmet burger chef, you aren't just making any burgers; Top buns represent specific orders placed by your customers and it's up to you to satisfy them.
Once you have carefully selected your ingredients, and placed them on your burger, claiming a top bun to finish it off is the next step. Place it on top to complete your burger and get paid for your masterpiece.
But there's a twist!
Every time you take a top bun, the other top buns accumulate more coins making them more desirable. Waiting too long to finish your burger might mean your rivals can grab it before you, but finish it now and you make every other top bun worth more!
Instead of just writing about it, how about we show you? Watch below as we explain the rules whilst playing a three player game.
Kickstarter Exclusive Reward
Included in every copy of Burger Up is an exclusive First Player marker drink coaster.
Once you have decided who is the starting player, give them this coaster. Not only will you remember who went first, but that player gets a handy place to put their drink!
Want enough coasters for every player? Check out the WORKS reward tier, or the add-ons below. If you have a full set of 4 coasters, shuffle them and deal one randomly to each player. Whoever gets the red "First Player Marker" coaster is the starting player.
This is an exclusive to Kickstarter reward and will not be available in the retail version. Once this campaign is over, we'll keep a small number of coasters to take with us to conventions, special events and demos, but it will not be generally available.
What's in the Box
Each copy of Burger Up comes with 102 gorgeous, high quality, 80mm x 80mm (3.15 inch) square cards, 60 premium grade die-cut tokens, rulebook and Kickstarter Exclusive First Player marker coaster.

Shipping & Delivery
All rewards will be packed and shipped directly to backers from a fulfillment center in China. This means less delays so you'll get your rewards faster.
As with all our campaigns, we offer EU friendly shipping to our EU based backers (including add-ons). The shipping is a bit more expensive, but you're guaranteed not to get charged any additional fees when your rewards arrive. You will need to wait a little longer (about a month or two) since we ship everything into Europe for fulfilment.
Try the Game
Want to see what the game is all about before pledging? No worries! You can download the preview Print & Play edition, which includes the latest draft rulebook and greyscale cards for a 2-player game.
All prices shown are in Australian Dollars (AUD)
To get any of the add-ons below, simply add that additional amount to your total pledge.
Entropy (Kickstarter Edition) - $28
Entropy is a competitive card game of risk, deception and action management for 2 to 6 players.
Five parallel worlds have collided, forming a Nexus where time and space is folded unto itself. You play as one of five characters jettisoned from their world and into the Nexus. Through the use of unique character abilities and special actions, players must find fragments of their reality and be the first to piece them back together in order to find their way back home.
Each copy comes with the Kickstarter exclusive metal Anchor token, foil wild fragments and backer credits poster. The Kickstarter edition of Entropy is not available at retail and stock is limited. Once we run out, we will not be making any more.
Ninja Dojo Fight! - $12
Ninja Dojo Fight! is a micro game inspired by Entropy. You play as a ninja from one of four rival disciplines. As a ninja in training on your final test, your goal is to win the most battles using the weapons at your disposal.
The game play is similarly to that of Entropy, through the use of simultaneous action selection, but it's not quite the same game. With only 42 cards, it is more thematically and technically accessible than Entropy.
Robots & Rockets - $19
Robot tourism is booming and as the new hotshot travel agent stationed on the moon — the solar system’s most famous travel hub — you are tasked with the vital mission of getting tourist robots to their choice of interplanetary destinations quickly and safely.
Robots & Rockets is a competitive card game of interplanetary tourism for 2 to 4 players. The goal is to have the highest number of robots in your rocket fleet at the end of the game.
First Player Coaster Set - $9
Complete set of Kickstarter exclusive drink coasters. Add $5 for a second set, enough for the 5~6 player variant.
When the campaign ends, we'll contact you to confirm exactly which add-ons you wanted.
Burger Up is Rule & Make's 5th game. We've worked closely with designer, and good friend, Matt Parkes, to make Burger Up. It is the cumulation of the skills we've learned from our previous games along with the skills acquired through our profession, applied to a project we truly care about.
We're on Kickstarter to raise the funds needed to manufacture Burger Up. We are at the stage where everything is ready except for manufacturing. This is the point where we cannot go any further without your help. With your support, we can make this game a reality!

Risks and challenges
This is our third Kickstarter project, and we've learnt a lot from the first two. We have the knowledge and experience to see this project through, which we've demonstrated with our previous campaigns. There are always elements of risk to any project and we've identified the following areas that introduce the most risk and pose the biggest challenges for the project:
Drawing from our previous experiences in both the print industry, and our Rise to Power and Entropy campaigns, we know how to to produce a high quality game. We've set up manufacturing supply chains with several component manufacturers and are confident we can produce a top notch product. We've also learnt from the hiccups we faced during Rise to Power and Entropy, and we've put measures in place to avoid delays.
SHIPPING & FULFILMENT
Shipping can add significant delays, and much of the process is largely out of our control. To mitigate this we will be sending rewards directly to backers from a fulfilment centre in China. This will reduce overall postage costs and allow us to get rewards to backers much quicker.
EU shipping is also very costly and has the potential to hurt the campaign financially if not handled correctly. Our previous campaigns, which also offered EU friendly shipping, taught us that the postage cost is only part of the story. Accounting for import duties, customs fees, and the extra cost of shipping all rewards to Europe first prior to fulfillment, doubles the final shipping cost. We've come up with a more representative shipping cost for Burger Up which we think is fair to both us as creators and you as EU based backers.
To help avoid over-reaching, we've pre-planned all the stretch goals. They have been carefully considered, budgeted, and will not impact on the final delivery timeframe. We'll always have one stretch goal announced, and tease the one after that. This will give us an opportunity to double check our figures before we start making promises that could jeopardise the project. This is an evolution of what we did with our previous campaign, and we're really excited to show you what we have in store!
Since we are based in Australia, we must charge in Australian Dollars (AUD). However, all manufacturing and shipping costs are quoted in US Dollars (USD). We learnt from our previous campaigns that the AUD can fluctuate wildly from the start of the campaign to when manufacturing and shipping bills are due. This change is unpredictable and can lose the campaign thousands of dollars. To solve this, we will be converting all funds to USD as soon as they are received. This way the money you have given us is unaffected by the fickle Australian Dollar.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
