By donating to this project you’ll be helping us to make a CD related to the beautiful Dutch city of ’s-Hertogenbosch, with music from the time of one of its most famous citizens, the painter Hieronymus Bosch. It will also be a celebration of the top ensemble that was part of the Confraternity of Our Illustrious Lady in the city some 500 years ago. We’ll sing directly from facsimiles of choirbooks still held by the Confraternity today. The music includes the sparkling Missa Cum Jocunditate by Pierre de la Rue, who—like Bosch—was himself a member of the Confraternity. But perhaps most importantly, you’ll be supporting our approach to polyphony, as we sing “straight from the source”, and try to get to the essence of this fantastic repertoire. We hope you’ll join us in this exciting project!
Risks and challenges
What are the risks and challenges that come with completing your project, and how are you qualified to overcome them?
In a world in which the CD market is becoming increasingly more difficult, we'll need to work hard to get our CD to our potential listeners. That said, we believe that CDs are still important statements about our artistic output, so we remain confident in this project. We will of course make use of digital channels as well to make sure our recording gets heard!
While our group is at present undertaking many other exciting projects, this CD is in no way dependent on them, nor do we require any approval or premarket review from an outside company or agency before we can distribute rewards.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
