During High School I worked as a sailmaker building and repairing boat sails on the coast of Maine. When my grandfather's old leather wallet fell apart I crafted a new one from scrap sailcloth and the first flowfold wallet was born. Over the last 5 years I built hundreds of prototype designs and in 2010 I brought the Flowfold billfold to market. www.flowfold.com
Apple released the iPad in 2010 and we saw an opportunity to make a simple sleeve style case to carry and protect the iPad tablet.
We have been testing the Flowfold iPad sleeve for over a year now and are happy with it's performance and style. The sleeve is durable, weather resistant, lightweight and slim.
The outer layer of the sleeve is made from reclaimed composite sailcloth. These cloths are composed of Carbon Fiber, Kevlar, Pentex or Polyester matrixes sandwiched between Mylar films. They are the toughest, lightest and most resilient wallets in the world due to their high tensile strength to weight ratios and ideal modulus of elasticities. The inner padding layer of the sleeve is made from a 3mm thick 100% post consumer recycled plastic bottle felt.
This Kickstarter project was created to help finance the first production run of Flowfold iPad 2 sleeves.
We are proud to continue the tradition of Maine Made quality and solid craftsmanship. All Flowfold products are designed and manufactured in Maine, USA.
