Rules Progress, Dark Realm Partial Delivery, Dice Kitting, Minis Kitting, and More
If I could sum up in one word the amount of work accomplished on Polyversal since the last update that word would be: Massive. We've hit another big milestone with a partial Dark Realm Miniatures delivery, made incredible strides in example writing and a final rulebook content review, kitted thousands of miniatures and dice, and much more.
We're getting closer and closer to delivery- so please bear with us as we finish up Polyversal.
Since my last update, Polyversal's Rules have been my primary focus, hours upon hours just about every evening. Reviewing the Gameplay and Design Rules as a whole, I've been diving deep: reading, refining, writing detailed examples, pre-formatting into "styles" for our layout artist, and making sure everything is consistent, correct, clear, and well-organized. The rules were in decent shape prior to this effort, yet, I've spent roughly 130-150 additional hours on them. I'm pleased to state that the rules are now 99% complete with respect to final content approval and that last 1% won't take much longer. Once they are in Marc von Martial's hands, no changes will be made to any of the content.
In parallel, I've been working closely with Marc on style. I've approved a layout style for the rulebook that I think captures the essence of our feel and look for the game overall. I'm not quite ready to reveal that, since there were a few minor comments for Marc to incorporate. But, next update, I'll reveal some of the hard work accomplished by Marc on the final rulebook.
Dark Realm Miniatures
I'm very pleased to report that Dark Realm Miniatures has shipped (and I've received) a partial delivery of half our order for Polyversal's production. The other half will arrive soon after. There were many challenges that Doug at DRM faced to get these done- I'm happy that the challenges have all been overcome. This is a huge milestone and it lets me get busy kitting up complete Battlegroups. Dark Realm is mixed into four of the five Battlegroups and make up most of our infantry. Here are some photos of production models received from Dark Realm. Note: some Infantry are shown next to the Vorace Walkers in the first picture for scale.
I counted / sorted 6000 dice for Polyversal over several evenings into bags. Dice Kitting is now 100% complete. I ran into one minor snag where I was short 200 d12 dice. But, thanks to some awesome service from our supplier, Chessex, I had 200 d12s in a box on my door in several days.
Kitting Brigade Models Miniatures
Also in kitting news, all of the bulk-packed models from Brigade Models in the UK are now 100% sorted and packed into bags for battlegroups, exclusives, and add-ons. Here are previews of a few of the models kitted since the last update...
Polyversal Ad Campaign
Part of my job is also to advertise and promote Polyversal so that we can attract new gamers to the game who may have missed the Kickstarter as we get closer to launch. You may see some of these ads appear if you visit theminiaturespage.com or thewargameswebsite.com. Here is a series I created based on some of the artwork of Polyversal and our new logo:
