Joking aside, we really do love and appreciate your feedback and support. As the pieces and parts come together, we are getting more and more excited about getting this game to your table. What's next?
The time has come to lock down the pledges for D6, so if you haven't completed your survey yet, there's no time like the present, right? We mentioned during the last update that we were going to lock the pledges and charge cards this week, but we are actually going to give you one more weekend to make changes if you'd like. In the meantime...
As mentioned, the game will come with a punch board insert for the compass dial, so don't feel pressured to get the coin. Of course, it's not too late to add it to your order if you'd like, but completely unnecessary from a game function standpoint.
As of this moment, 86% of you have completed your survey. Thank you. Until next time, have a great weekend and we'll have more to share very soon!
Happy February, everybody! We hope your 2019 has gotten off to a fantastic start. D6 has come a long way since the last time we checked in, and we’re excited to tell you about some of the things we’ve been working on.
During the campaign, you beautiful backers unlocked a pretty significant stretch goal: a two-sided map! Jesse’s been working diligently on a couple of different options for the reverse side. If you haven’t noticed by now, we’ve tried to keep D6’s replayability in mind throughout the design process, and the map is no exception. Makes sense, though, right? The other side of the world should look and feel different...and perhaps be a bit more difficult to master?
“What’s it going to look like?” you may be asking yourself. Well...we’re still working on that. Jesse has gone down two different paths in his quest to diversify the aesthetic of the artwork.
The first option is very different. It's very much an homage to RPGs and the DMs who run them. Think graph paper, scattered notes, etc. It’ll have an “artfully disheveled” vibe that’s very different than side one. It's also significantly more advanced (extra buffs, tougher to navigate, etc.). It won't be for everybody, but if you're looking to really challenge yourself or just appreciate the different look, this just might be the one you gravitate towards.
The second option is more similar to the map you (hopefully) know and love from the campaign. It's colorful, easy to read, and has a clean overall look. The lands are in different locations, etc., but it definitely shares more in common with its predecessor than the first variation does. In short: Yes, it's different, but in a way that feels familiar.
It's possible we'll devote an entire update to the map once a final direction is chosen. In the meantime, feel free to comment on your favorite. And for those of you whose pick isn't chosen, don't pay your angry mob quite yet: There's talk of providing a PDF version of whichever option doesn’t get chosen. So there.
We originally planned to have a list of 100 DM interventions that players would roll for throughout the game. You’ll only use a few of them each game, so again...tons of replay value. Well, the good news is that the book does indeed have that list of 100 DM interventions.
The other good news is that there are going to be more lists in addition to that (likely by the ten/dozen so you can roll a D10 or D12 for them). How many more? A couple? A few? We’re still working that out. By the time we compiled the ones we’d written pre-campaign and the ones written to accompany some tasty artwork from Jesse that didn’t have a home yet and the ones that just kept coming to us, we had more than we bargained for. So now you get more than you bargained for! (Have we mentioned replay value yet? I feel like we have.)
Remember those new classes you stretched for? Anthony has finished designing the bard, werewolf, and cleric minis, and they look good. But don’t take our word for it: Check ‘em out!
Pledge Manager Update
For those of you who have been clamoring for us to take your monies since the surveys went out, Rick will be charging cards next week. And yes, you still have time to change your pledge! Underneath the GET STARTED button is a clickable link that allows you to switch.
If you have any issues or questions, just shoot Rick an e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. For the love of all that's good, don't send any of us that stuff. That said, we always appreciate words of encouragement in general and lyric poetry gushing about our good looks in particular.
Until next time, and (as always) thanks so much for your support!
Hey everyone! It's been a really busy 6 weeks since the campaign closed and we are finally ready to send out the surveys for D6. Over the next 24 hours, about 250 backers will receive the notification for completing the survey. This is a random selection that helps us identify any problems that may exist before opening it up to the masses. If you are part of the initial wave to get the survey, please don't hesitate to fill it out. We won't be able to send out the rest until a certain percentage completes them.
A few things to note going in:
Any new charges incurred when completing the survey will NOT be charged until February 1st, 2019. With the holidays upon us, we don't want to add to the financial burden. So feel free to add to your pledge if you'd like. You won't pay for it until February.
If you were a $1 or no reward backer, you can still change your pledge level at this time. Underneath the GET STARTED button (rather small if you ask me) is a clickable link that allows you to switch. This goes for all pledge levels, in fact. So please feel free to change if you'd like.
You will find the D6 Game as a possible add on. This is only for those of you that want more than one game. You will already have the game in your pledge level without adding it on again, so please be aware that if you add the game to your cart, you'll be purchasing a second copy.
During the campaign, we unlocked a metal upgrade from plastic for the 50 coins in the game. As excited as we are about this, I want to make it clear these coins will be aluminum, not heavy zinc alloy or another heavier substance. We looked into it and as much as we would like a premium coin, we simply can't afford the cost of production or the shipping weight. Our initial quotes on which we based our ability to upgrade was for aluminum, but it wasn't as clear as we would have liked. Still going to be great, but didn't want it to be a surprise later.
The D6 Hero puzzle is being offered in the survey, and is being treated as a stretch goal If we get 125 orders, we will produce the puzzle. If not, your order will automatically be adjusted.
You'll also find other Certifiable games available in the add-on section. This is an opportunity for you to get them at a reduced cost (closer to original KS pricing) and the shipping will be a bit cheaper, too. But...if you order them during the survey, you will not receive them until D6 is delivered. So please keep that in mind. Save a few bucks, but wait a bit longer is the trade off.
For the actual pledge manager...you don’t need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond. Answer the questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping information, and purchase add-on items if you like. You don’t have access to this survey link yet, but it will be available soon via email!
After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts.
If you need to review your information or pledge status, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page at https://d6.backerkit.com.
If you used your Facebook credentials to log in to your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey is sent to the email address you use for your Facebook account. If you have another email address that you prefer to use, please contact support at https://d6.backerkit.com/faq.
If you have any issues or questions, just shoot me an e-mail at email@example.com.
As we mentioned, the pledge manager surveys will be sent out in a couple of weeks. We use Backerkit, and this is where you'll provide your shipping information, add any other items to your pledge you would like, and make any additional payments. In addition to the add-ons you saw during the campaign, we will offer items such as dice cups, past games, etc...but we'll also be taking orders for this D6 puzzle.
We will sell the puzzles for $25 for those that are interested. If we get enough interest, we'll get them ordered. If we don't get enough interest, we'll simply delete the item from your cart and you won't be charged. No pressure, though, we understand this may not be your kind of thing.
