***Updates: CHECK THE 'FEATURED DESIGN' POSTS FOR MORE PICTURES AND SETUPS***
This project is to launch my new Wave of gaming mats.
Ceri Design is a small company that I set up in order to be a part of my favourite hobby, table top gaming. The goal of the company is simple; Create affordable gaming mats and accessories at a high level of quality and service.
I'm no stranger to Kickstarter, having successfully funded 6 projects thus far and delivering quality products on time to my backers. I have also sold many gaming mats through my online store to customers the world over and all have expressed positive comments about the quality of their mats and the service received.
My gaming mats are made from a high-quality polyester felt. This gives a fantastic surface to game on. Many gamers have commented on how much they enjoy the feel and finish. The artwork is sublimated, a process I learned through my experience working within the sportswear manufacturing industry. During this process the artwork is dyed into the material (much like a tattoo) for a fantastic finish that is more durable than standard printing.
Please note, that due to the nature of sublimation and how monitors and mobile screens are calibrated, colours may appear slightly different to what appears on your screen. I have attached images of the finished print articles in order to show as close as possible the finished quality.
There are 12 designs available, which are based on the 12 most popular designs/styles from my current catalogue. Each design is available in either a 3x3* or 4x3* size. *(feet. Approx. 36 x 36 or 48 x 36 inches)
Throughout the campaign, I will be writing Updates which feature each design with sample setups and close-up photos of the finished gaming mats.
As a reward for backing this project you will receive a gaming mat of your choice from the designs available. You will receive a size 3x3 for every £19 (~$24) backed or a size 4x3 for every £21 (~$26) backed.
You can back for multiple mats, simply adjust your pledge to included the extra cost. This is very simple to do, trust me! At the end of the Kickstarter you'll be able to state the the number of mats required and their sizes using the survey I'll be sending out.
Hopefully this table below will help you work out how much to back;
I'm happy to post worldwide excluding Russia and Brazil due to issues posting to these countries in the past.
UK - £3 (flat rate)
Rest of the World - £7 (flat rate)
Many of you will notice that due to having a flat rate on this Kickstarter the more you purchase the more you'll save on postage.
If you're not sure how much to pledge just send me a direct message and I'd be happy to help.
As a special service during this project I will be offering you the opportunity to have a custom mat of your designing printed and pressed using the same sublimation process and on the same high quality felt. You will need to supply the artwork for the mat(s) but I am happy to give you advice on whether the quality is good enough for sublimation. Ideally, the design should be drawn to the actual size i.e. 3x3 or 4x3, and at a resolution of at least 300dpi. Files can be either .ai, .eps, .pdf, .jpeg or .tiff.
This service is available for a pledge of £30 per mat. This can be pledged on its own or as part of your pledge for some of the designs available.
My last Kickstarter was for my 2D Terrain which is manufactured the same way as these gaming mats. For more information about them please follow this link; http://kck.st/29ZOlQ5
This terrain is available as an add-on during this Kickstarter also. This terrain is now supplied as one sheet with the terrain sublimated onto it ready for you to cut out. By doing this I can now offer them for the great price of £5 per pack!
Simply add £5 to your pledge for each pack you'd like and at the end of the Kickstarter you'll be able to state which packs you require.
Risks and challenges
As I have already stated, I have previous experience of running Kickstarter projects and have successfully delivered on what I have promised.
There is no risk of this project not going ahead if funded, but there could be reasons for a delay in the product if one of the following unlikely events happen;
1) The printers have an issue with printing and pressing the mats. This is unlikely since they have multiple printers and presses, but stranger things have happened.
2) The fabric supplier runs out of material. If this were to happen it would simply delay production until the stock comes in again. I haven't run into this problem thus far as they have always been able to supply my orders (and I've made many) and have done so very quickly, but if they do run out at the warehouse they're usually fully stocked once again within a matter of weeks.
3) I break both of my arms. This is unlikely. Yet during one Kickstarter I did break my ankle. Thankfully I still managed to get everything out on time. I just want to cover my bases. :D
In short, I have a very good relationship with my fabric supplier and printer. They are both very experienced companies that have won awards for their service and are very professional in delivering my products on time.
I'm a very reliable individual that takes pride in his work and the last thing I want to do is tarnish the good name I have been able to build for Ceri Design.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
