We’re an independent design company from the San Francisco Bay Area. We create straightforward tools that aid in leading simpler, more focused, and inspired lives.
We launched our first solar watch collection on Kickstarter last year and were thrilled to receive so much positive feedback and requests for more solar-driven watch styles.
After months of development, we're excited to unveil the newest additions to the Lightwell collection: the Field Watch Mark II and the Chronograph.
Inspired by the utilitarian aesthetic of WWII-era military watches, we designed new Chronograph and Field Watch collections around practical functionality and low-maintenance durability.
We referenced military specifications, borrowed cues from iconic field and pilot watches, and modernized its design with stronger materials and solar-powered movements from Seiko .
Our second iteration of the ideal everyday watch.
The new Lightwell Field Watch MkII builds upon the same 'do-everything, go-everywhere' principles as our original field watch, featuring a scratch resistant sapphire crystal, 100 meter water resistant case, and several new updates that improve its legibility and operation.
The new models are available in two dial variants: Type I and Type II. Type I is characterized by bold rectangular indices as hour markers and Type II is characterized arabic numerals along the hour track.
We've updated the luminous hour markers with SuperLuminova BGw9 for a brighter glow and clear visibility in low-light conditions.
The adjusted 38.5 mm sizing looks great on all wrist sizes, and the oversized crown makes time and date adjustments a breeze.
A classic tool watch with endless modern application.
Our take on the classic WWII-era pilot chronograph balances style and utility with a bold technical aesthetic that alludes to its precision and accuracy.
Simply put, a chronograph is a watch with built-in stopwatch functionality. Conventionally used by pilots, astronauts, and race car drivers, the chronograph still offers a range of everyday practical uses like timing workouts, measuring cook durations, tracking parking meters, and much more.
The Lightwell Chronograph is available in a variety of luminous dial options and colors
We love our planet and are committed to building mindful products with respect to its future.
For us, this means being conscious about the materials we use and partnering with like-minded factories that minimize environmental impact.
Our factory partners are transparent with their production and assembly practices and will manufacture our watches in compliance with local and international environmental regulations.
As a proud member of the 1% for the Planet Foundation, we've pledged to donate a share of our annual sales to environmental protection initiatives across the globe.
When I started Centric Instruments last year, my hope was to make reliable tools that would serve people faithfully for life. The kind of tools that are relied upon so much, they become essential to our daily rituals.
But the goal wasn't only to design the perfect everyday watch– I wanted to encourage sustainable lifestyles that revolve around meaningful relationships, social value, and moments of connection with nature.
I hope this new Lightwell collection inspires you to lead a full and well-balanced life under the sun, and that every time you glance at your wrist, your watch reminds you to stay centered in the present.
If you're just discovering Centric Instruments and share our values, I hope you'll stick around and join us on our journey to a more focused, sustainable, and centered life.
