Well, Dear Backers,

In a few short days, Cedille Records will be sending you your Kickstarter reward, along with Cedille’s and my continued thanks. Then, on August 12, INTERSECTION Jazz Meets Classical Song will be available to the public as a download or CD. Thank you for making this release possible!

Our first review, in Fanfare magazine, is stellar. Here’s a taste:

" of the most original, innovative and adventurous recordings...a veritable treasure-trove of riches...first rate all the way: beautiful singing, stunning instrumentals, and a coherent and classy program. It is a recording to play and play again!”

And we’re having a party! Join us on Friday, September 5, from 8 – 11pm at the Ukrainian Institute of Contemporary Art in Chicago with mini-sets from the disc, sweets and savories, and a mini-show of art by Morris Barazani, our cover artist. What a night! You can drop in for a while or stay the whole evening. Just click the image below to order tickets.

Whether near or far, you can hear some new INTERSECTION music on August 22 at 1pm, live on WFMT 98.7FM/, as the INTERSECTION Trio (Kuang-Hao, Nick and Patrice) plays for Cedille Day, an annual celebration of Chicago’s own classical label, hosted by founder and President Jim Ginsburg. Tune in or stream live, or check out the podcast at your leisure. We’ll perform a hot-off-the-press Randy Bauer composition, based on the poem “Drunk” by Charles Baudelaire, pieces by André Previn, Astor Piazzolla and selections from the CD.

Creating this CD has been quite a journey! THANK YOU for helping to launch the music into the world!

With all best wishes,

Patrice Michaels and Cedille Records
