Who’s lying? Who’s not? You decide!
Designed by some guy you have never heard of (but is still really awesome) The Village is a role-playing party-game set in wherever we want it to be set in. To start, we are creating one version set in the middle ages where werewolves terrorize a local village and one version set in The North Pole where naughty elves are messing with Santa’s list.
In The Village, the game progresses through a series of Night Phases and Day Phases. Each Night phase, various special characters will perform their role's special duties in secret while the rest of the group closes their eyes. During the day phase, it is revealed what happened, who is alive and who is not so much alive. The mob then discusses (usually rather quite loudly) who they believe the bad guys are and vote to lynch them (or kick them off the nice list.)
The game proceeds until only one team is left standing.
The Village: Werewolf: A light-hearted game of magic, fear, lies, death, lynching, werewolves, witches and villagers which requires players to lie and turn on each other, even their closest friends.
The Village: North Pole: An even more light-hearted game about elves and Christmas villains and Christmas heroes. Also encourages lying and deceit, who can you trust? Probably no one, but that’s your problem!
What could be more fun than that?
The Village takes the basics of Mafia and makes it so much better. Have you ever had something that was fun and awesome, but you wanted it to be even more fun and more awesome? Us too! That is why we made it more awesome and more fun, ‘cause you can never have too much awesome or too much fun! Open the box and instantly be immersed in a world where you can trust no one, probably not even yourself!
Easy streamlined rules that get even The Village beginners up and running in minutes.
More complex and in depth game-play for veterans that make it even harder to tell who is lying and who is just sweating cause it’s hot in here.
And shipping is free, nationwide! (Oh and you know, Canada)
The Village is the Best, other games are not the Best, back The Village.

Each deck will include a total of 50 playable character cards and 4 Narrator cards. The narrator cards will provide extra information to help those that are less familiar with the game to be the narrator. Out of the 50 playable character cards, 20-30 will be special characters with special roles. Approximately 25% of the 50 cards will be on the werewolf team and the remainder will be on the villager team. As we get closer to the end of the project goal, we will release further details on all the characters that will be included in each deck.
With your help, for which we are extremely grateful, we will be able to complete all final designs of the cards and have the cards printed and delivered just in time for the holiday season. We want to make sure you have time to play the North Pole edition at your Christmas parties and time to give either version as a gift.
Risks and challenges
The biggest challenge or risk we face is with the printers. That being said, we have worked with these printers in the past and we are confident that we will be able to have the cards printed and shipped in the first part of December.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
