Where do you put your iPhone when you go to the beach?

How about inside the EscapeCapsule, a waterproof case for the iPhone 4 designed to protect your phone from water, rain, snow, sand, mud, impacts, scratches and anything else you can throw at it.  It is fully covered and sealed so that you can take your iPhone with you everywhere.

The most important design element of the EscapeCapsule is the fact that the housing is made from a high impact crystal clear polycarbonate.  This allows the iPhone to be showcased rather than hidden by the protective shell.  The clear shell also allows you to easily see the edge of the "O-ring" as it seals against the housing.  This ability to visually inspect the watertight seal from outside the case allows you to confidently take your iPhone into any environment.

KEY FEATURES AND BENEFITS:

• Waterproof, rigid, high impact polycarbonate housing sealed with a silicon O-ring.
• The touchscreen works great through the built-in optically perfect high impact polycarbonate screen protector.
• The home, volume and lock buttons function through membranes that are built into the overall structure of the shock absorbing internal rubber bumper.
• The cameras front and rear both work through the clear housing and provide great quality photos and videos.
• Watertight plug that allows you to use your iPhone headphones to listen to music or make hands free phone calls.
• Specifically designed membranes allow sound to transfer through the case to make clear phone calls.

We felt it was important to make the iPhone easy to take in and out of the case.  The lid of the housing snaps into place to provide a secure and sealed housing when in use. It literally takes a second to install or remove the iPhone.

The EscapeCapsule is our first product and we are excited to show it to you.  We have not seen another case like it.  We have spent months working through concepts, 3D models, refinement, engineering, material research, testing and refining several rounds of prototypes.  It is been a long road and many late nights to get to where we are now, and we are very proud of what we have achieved. 

Why Kickstarter?

The tooling required to create the plastic parts is quite complicated and expensive. Also, there are several post injection processes needed to assemble all of the parts into one precise watertight finished product.

We came to Kickstarter to raise a minimum of $30,000 over 30 days to get the EscapeCapsule into production.  On Kickstater, our backers pre-ordered the EscapeCapsule and this provided the funding to help cover the costs of tooling and a portion of the production costs. 

We developed a special Kickstarter Only Edition of the EscapeCapsule exclusively available only during the 30 day period of our Kickstarter project.
