We opened Cassava about a year ago to bring an artisan cafe experience of 3rd-wave coffee and Michelin Star quality food to our-part of the city--the Outer Richmond. Our concept has always been inspired by the great cafes of Paris.
In France, cafe's are a community hubs where people gather day and night to get to discuss the issues of the day, catch-up with friends over delectable treats, or sip on a bottle of wine and watch the world go by.
We recently expanded our dining room to include a wine bar and more seating. With a bigger space, we are now able to offer more choices on our food menu. But we don't want to stop here just yet... !
It's very cold in our part of the city, so your plan is to create a covered heated patio to keep guests warm year round. We also envision creating a lush edible garden.
Risks and challenges
San Francisco is one of the greatest cities in the world to conduct business in and be part of, however, building codes, permit, and inspection process can be a bit of Byzantine labyrinth. Delays in opening our new patio dining area can happen because of unforeseen steps taken by the local government including managing protests filed by the members of community, although the neighborhood loves us so far!
This project has been designed within the guidelines and regulations of the City and the County of San Francisco. We are fully confident in our team of professionals to navigate through all necessary measures.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
