Car Park Show is the bookend to three years of study; a celebration of the University of Brighton’s Graphic Design and Illustration graduates of 2013. From the 5th to the 9th of July, we will occupy a disused car park in Fulham, filling it with our work and ourselves.
The opportunity to exhibit in a space outside a gallery environment presents us with the chance to make the show truly our own. This means that in addition to putting on an exhibition of our work, we will also be creating installations and artworks which explore and highlight the individual qualities of the space. We are going to be home to a pop-up café selling fresh coffee, and a graduate shop selling artwork such as prints and independent publications, and in the evenings we'll be host to a series of events, from live music to discussions from Crowd Talks. We really want the show to be more than a presentation of our work, but also an experience we can share with you.
We have been fundraising persistently for the last three years, and while the money raised so far will allow for us to fund the essential components of a degree show, such as paying for the space, branding, transportation, a great projector to show off moving image, and an innovative way of hanging work, it has not left us room for contingencies. The nature of exhibiting outside of an established gallery environment means that we must account for costs besides that of the usual show budget. The money that you pledge will go toward costs such as an electrician, a plumber, lighting, a stage and sound system, and installation materials. By pledging you will be helping us realise our greater vision, to go above and beyond. We want to share and show you what we can do!
Thank you for your time, we look forward to seeing you there!

Risks and challenges
There are 70 of us, and we will all be working together to make the whole show an exciting event. We anticipate everything will run smoothly - with organisation currently in full swing in order to be ready for the 5th July opening night.
As a group, we should hopefully be able to overcome any technical or logistical issues which may arise.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
