Be part of the community that will bring these new songs to life, and out into the world!
Hello! Thank you for your interest in this project! My name is Caroline Cotter. I’m a singer songwriter originally from Providence, Rhode Island, more recently from Portland, Maine, and currently a full time traveling musician, sharing my music with audiences far and wide.
I’ve been writing and recording music for a decade, but two and a half years ago I made a leap; I left my full time job, left my apartment in Portland, Maine, and hit the road to support my first national release, Dreaming As I Do. The album was played by folk radio DJs all over the US and in Europe and reached #5 on the Folk DJ Charts the month it was released.
In the past two years, I’ve played over 400 shows in 42 states and 7 countries, to audiences big and small. I’ve gotten the opportunity to play at venues from Club Passim in Boston, MA to the Alberta Rose Theater in Portland, Oregon. I’ve opened shows for Loudon Wainwright III, David Wilcox, and Dan Bern, played festivals including 30A Songwriters Festival in Florida, Joe Val Bluegrass Festival in Boston, Al Ras Festival in Barcelona, Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival in New York, and showcased at the Northeastern Regional Folk Alliance Conference as well as the Southeast Regional Folk Alliance Conference. And just this summer I was chosen for the Emerging Artist Showcase at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival! I’ve met so many wonderful and generous people in my travels and am so grateful for the support I’ve received while living on the road.
It’s been an exciting and inspiring journey and in these past couple of years, I’ve written a whole batch of new songs. Recently I've teamed up with Beehive Productions to work on recording the songs, along with a group of super talented musicians from Maine, New York, Vermont, Denmark, and Canada. We recorded in two sessions: first in Saranac Lake, New York in the late fall and then in Kansas City, Missouri in early spring. This summer it’s all coming together with mixing, mastering and design! I can’t wait to release these songs and I hope you’ll be part of the team that makes it happen!
I’ve set my goal at $15,000 based on the estimated project budget below. This is an all or nothing goal and we'll need to raise this to make the project possible and get the songs into your hands and ears, and out into the world! Any extra funds that are raised will go toward making a produced video and pressing a vinyl version of the album.
My first Kickstarter campaign in 2013 helped get me to where I am today. It’s so great to be on this journey together! Thank you for being a patron of the arts!
