Carl Weathersby is making a live vinyl record! Help us raise money to complete this project.
We made professional recordings of Carl playing two amazing nights of blues at Rosa's Lounge in Chicago in October 2018.
We were able to work with Steve Wagner, a fantastic sound engineer from Delmark Records to capture the audio from both nights.
The night featured a stellar band: Chicago blues standout Corey Dennison on rhythm guitar, Jay Davenport (of John Mayall's band) on drums, and Aaron Whittier on bass.
We pre-sold enough records during the two performances to cover the cost of musicians and engineers for the evenings.
Now we are undertaking this campaign to mix the tracks, master the album, create the artwork, and press the record to vinyl.
Half of the money raised will go to pressing the record on vinyl (that stuff is not cheap), and the other half to mixing, mastering, and artwork.
When we meet our goal, we will make 500 vinyl records and 500 CDs.
REWARDS, REWARDS, REWARDS!
We will have individually numbered records and CDs. Add a few bucks to get Carl's signature on there!
Are you the ultimate blues fan? Do you want an actual guitar signed by Carl? You can get the Flying V guitar!
My name is Pablo and I play the blues as Oso.
I met Carl Weathersby in 2016 and started taking lessons from him.
We have become friends, have hung out with each others' families, and have formed a bond over the blues.
I got inspired to lead this project because Carl has not put out a new record in about a decade, and he does not have any releases under his name that have been pressed to vinyl.
This has been an amazing experience, and we are excited to bring this project to the finish line.
Thanks to Brandon Chiu, Eric Kriesant, and Thad Matula for generously allowing us to use their photos for this campaign.
THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND FOR PLEDGING TO THIS CAMPAIGN!
Risks and challenges
We have the recordings and they sound amazing! The main risk is that we do not meet our funding goal and are unable to produce and press the record. Help us overcome this by backing the project!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
