"You can design and create, and build the most wonderful place in the world. But it takes people to make the dream a reality." - Walt Disney
Carl's Odyssey is a series of children's books about a little bulb of garlic who's lost in the grocery store and has to get back home.
Follow Carl's journey through the different aisles; meeting fun & exciting characters, facing new challenges, & learning all about the world around him.
Written in the vein of classic adventure stories like Toy Story, Indiana Jones and Spongebob Squarepants. This charming, fun and silly tale is a sure hit for children ages 0-1000.
To get the first book, Carl's Odyssey: The Frozen Aisle, published!
We wanted to create a fun and exciting story, with stunning artwork, that's never been done before and that doesn't take itself too seriously.
We think you'll really love it.
Meeting our funding goal will allow us to publish the first book.
Every pledge counts.
We need your feedback. We're still working on Carl's Odyssey: The Frozen Aisle and some of the best feedback has come from friends and family. We want to include you in the process. So join our project and become a part of the creative team!
Carl is found, half frozen, by an ice farmer named Mr. Waffle and nursed back to health. Mr. Waffle will take him to the edge of the tundra so he can get back home, but only if Carl can help with the ice harvest. Every year they must give their ice to the Porterhouse Gang, or they'll destroy the town.
Carl and Mr. Waffle go to the ice fields and discover that all the ice has been stolen by a monster!
They sneak into the monster's cave to get back the ice, but are promptly captured.
The monster helps them bring the ice to town and wants to scare the Porterhouse Gang to make amends for his being bad. The scare tactic backfires and just as the Gang is about to destroy the town, Carl challenges the gang leader, Paul, to a duel. The only problem is that Carl has never been in a duel before.
They duel and Carl ends up winning against the odds! The townspeople celebrate and Carl is their hero, but he really wants to go back home...

If we meet our funding goal, we're anticipating a May release for our Kickstarter backers, with a public release sometime afterwards.
We get asked this all the time. Can you name another food that regulates your blood pressure, cures toothaches & acne, AND keeps you safe from vampires? We think not. Garlic is awesome!
Garlic is brimming with personality. It's an outsider. It stinks, is a little rounder and smaller than other foods and often its reputation precedes it. Sounds a little like us humans, right?
Grocery stores are mini versions of our world. They're beautiful. There are so many different cultures, backgrounds and ideals, in the form of products and foods, sitting on the shelves next to each other. Just like our world; it's a melting pot of history, experiences and perspectives.
We thought it would be fun to explore the idea of what happens behind the aisles of grocery stores. Imagine being able to move aside the items on the shelves and peer into another world, bursting with life and activity. Every aisle is infused with its own personality, set of characters and unique issues. The possibilities are endless.
Carl ventures out of the frozen aisle and into the open world of the grocery store. He has adventures in the drink aisle where he meets some really crazy extreme sports (drink) guys, then he meets a new friend, Pablo Pepper, in another aisle and they go on an adventure to Pablo's hometown - the ethnic food aisle. He goes to little Italty - the pasta aisle, but has to be very careful when he ventures into the haunted canned food aisle. Lucky for him, Chief Organic Long Grain Brown Rice rescues Carl and takes him back to his village, the organic food aisle. The cereal and toy aisles are as crazy and zany as you'd expect. The beer and wine aisle is... the beer and wine aisle. The bread aisle is a magical fluffy land of warm goodness. The baby food aisle is full of all kinds of weird and gross things. The meat counter is the old west, where the book's villains, the Porterhouse Gang, live. The final showdown with the Porterhouse Gang happens here, where all of Carl's friends come back to help and cheer him on against the evil gang that rules over the whole store. Afterwards, Carl finally makes it home to the produce section and is given a hero's welcome.
That's our loose projection of the series, but without your help it won't make it to Book 1!
INTERNATIONAL ORDERS PLEASE READ
Although we don't list the shipping costs for international orders in the rewards, please email us (firstname.lastname@example.org) with your full address. The fact is that shipping costs vary greatly in different parts of the world, so we'd hate to give you one price and have it be a less or more expensive price when it comes time to ship it to you. We want to provide the best possible customer experience, so please be patient with us, and we'll do our best to bring our product to you in a timely manner. Thanks!
HOW KICKSTARTER WORKS
People pledge whatever they can and receive the items as described in the pledge tiers to the right. We have 30 days to make our funding goal. If the total reaches our goal, then the credit cards of those who pledged will be charged and the products will be delivered shortly thereafter. If we don't meet our goal, then no one will be charged.
