I am going to Jingdezhen, China in the Fall of 2015 to study ceramics. I'll be studying at The Pottery Workshop, an international ceramics center in the "Porcelain Capital of the world" from September 8th to December 15th. I want to always be growing as an artist, moving forward in ceramics, gaining new experiences and developing my work; which is why I am so excited to be a part of this program. It is a Ceramics Study Abroad Program through West Virginia University, that ASU is taking part in. I am the first and only student from ASU to be participating in the program in the Fall Semester. I'm looking for all the support I can get from you, and whomever you may share this with to help me cover a portion of the costs. If you appreciate my work and would like to support me as an artist and what I'm doing...sharing my page, donating, or both would help me out more than you know, and I would be forever grateful.
I love creating ceramic sculptures and that is where I have focused my attention. I seem to have always put wheel throwing on the back burner however over the past year I began throwing a great deal more, and started incorporating the hand building I love to do so much with these thrown pieces. I have been giving planters, bowls, and mugs their very own unique persona and it has been heaps of fun. While working on them, these mugs slowly reveal their own personality and individuality that set them apart from any other mug you will find. I have a passion for making them and I enjoy drinking from them. It's like having a little friend in the morning to drink your coffee from. I would love nothing more than to give you that same mouth mug-to-face experience.

I will be creating new work all summer for each and every one of you that are supporting this project and my artwork. I am looking forward to showing my appreciation with work I have been developing since I first began ceramics; such as the necklaces and mugs I have spent so much time improving over this past year. All of the rewards are a one-of-a kind, original piece of artwork I have made (postcard and blog access I would consider a different form of artwork). Not one mouth mug is the exact same as another, and same goes for all other ceramic rewards.

Risks and challenges
I have a set schedule for the building, drying, bisque firing, glazing, and glaze firing this summer. I am VERY confident I will be able to accomplish the work on time, however this is ceramics and mishaps do happen, so there is a potential risk the deadlines may need to be extended.
I am going to great lengths to make sure that every aspect of this project stays on schedule.
A lot depends on how soon project backers are able to fill out the questionnaire with their mailing addresses. That is why it is important for all backers to submit the questionnaire by end of day Sunday, August 2nd, 2015.
Anyone not able to fill out the questionnaire by Sunday, August 2nd, 2015 will most likely NOT receive their stuff on time.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
