Wooden Samples

Hello Everyone,

We're heading into prime-time holiday season and we wanted to wish every one of you a happy, safe, and wonderful time!

Before we get there, it's time show the wooden samples!! For those of you that attended PAX or Spiel, you will recognize the prototype form of the cardboard components in the following pictures. A sample of the cardboard components will be available in a few more weeks.

And, I must let you all know that if you bought the Metal Cubes or if you're on the fence with them, you are not going to be disappointed -- the feeling of these in your hand and on the game board, they add a beautiful touch to the presentation and feeling during gameplay. The Metal Cubes are flat out GORGEOUS! At $15 for these, that is an insane deal -- I HIGHLY recommend the Metal Cubes!

These are aluminum cubes that have been anodized: an electrochemical process that converts the metal surface into a decorative, durable, corrosion-resistant, anodic oxide finish. When you see the beautiful surface of these pieces, that's the result from the anodizing process.

The teal came out slightly darker than we wanted. This can be a common issue (and has in fact happened to us on some of our previous projects) due to the difference between a digital rendering and actual paint being applied to wooden pieces...sometimes there is a difference. Fear not -- this is a super minor tweak!

Again, I want to reiterate that the cardboard components in these pictures are a prototype that the factory made by hand and are no where near representative of the quality your version will be. True samples of the cardboard components will be available in a few weeks.

Wooden Insert

Because of the 50/50 split, the last minute logistics, and tight window, we have decided not to pursue this option for Pipeline. In the future, if we feel an insert is necessary, we will make the proper preparations before launching the Kickstarter so as to not have any delays with the timeline. Regardless, Meeple Realty is still going to make an insert for Pipeline.

 What's Next?

Aside from enjoying the Holidays these next 2 weeks, we are going to finalize the rulebook (we're on the final, final iteration), submit all final files to the factory, and then we begin the printing process!

Thank you for reading this Update. We hope you are satisfied with your experience in supporting this Capstone project. Thank you so much for your trust in us!

Happy Holidays

Thanks, Randy, that’s what I’m assuming too. I’m hoping Capstone Games will confirm this and also address my other queries soon.

Ro, I'm not part of the design team, but I think the color difference is just the way the light is hitting the cubes.

The metal cubes do look pretty sweet, but I’m slightly concerned about uniformity - while the teal ones looks consistent, the first of the four gray and orange cubes look very different to the remaining three in the photos. Is this just because of lighting in the photo?

Another concern also is about dings/scratches building up in the paint job over time - how likely is this?

Lastly, if I do pledge for the metal cubes, will the main game box have enough room/storage bags to accommodate both, the wooden and the metal sets of cubes?

And +1 to the idea of working with Meeple Realty to offer some sort of bonus on the insert for this game - preferably free shipping worldwide, given the insert alone can well be almost the cost of the game itself. If this was done, I’d be willing to digest the high cost of the insert, but if not, the shipping alone would make it a hard pass for me, which would be quite a bummer, because I very much like having neatly organised games where there are lots of components.

Thanks for the great communication and Happy Holidays!

Have you requested that Meeple Realty give us a coupon for either $5 off or free shipping if we purchase another product from them at the same time? They usually have promos of some sort to coincide with a game production. Just bringing it up since you weren’t able to fully tie it into the campaign. Then possibly you would only provide a special link they give you or something....Thanks for the great communication and game.

Those cubes look fantastic! I'm very pleased with my purchase. I very much look forward to seeing the revised rulebook and getting that to Tabletop Simulator as well. Good luck with production.

Will we get the updated rulebook?
Missed some rules when I played on tabletop simulator. Mostly the end scoring cards.
