*****ABOUT THE VIDEO: I do eventually get to the point... But if your attention wanes (and who's doesn't in this ADD day and age... ) go ahead and skip forward to around 7 minutes or so... Thank you for taking the time to watch and support!!!******
I'm raising funds to record my first professionally recorded and produced EP. As many of you know, I've been writing and performing for the past 10 years WITHOUT any recorded music that people can actually take home and listen to after a show. It's the #1 question I always get, "do you have a CD?" So far, my answer has always been, "no." Yes, I have the digital download of the DIY recorded Aeroplanes + Astronauts EP from 2010... And while that represents a great time in my musical history, it's finally time to make something that represents the growth I've experienced since then... I'm in a new place with my songwriting and performing- I've evolved. I want this record to show that evolution and mark the beginning of this new chapter in my music...
I'm still deciding which songs will be on the record... I'm in the process of writing a few new ones that I'm excited about- so perhaps there will be a surprise or two... Stay tuned for updates on the final song selection and videos/pictures of the studio!
One song that will be on the record FOR SURE is Slow:
Risks and challenges
Risks and challenges... well, let's see... everything feels like a risk and challenge to me :) Honestly, I feel like things have come together pretty brilliantly so far for this record to even happen... From finding Chad Kinsey, my new producer, to the musicians that will be playing with me on the record... it all has really lined up perfectly! BUT (and that's a huge BUT), that being said... challenges are sure to be ahead in the production of it. I know that I'll be working under a tight schedule of 7 days to record... but I'm excited for the chance to work through the obstacles ahead and turn them into opportunities for growth... there's no other way to do it in my book!
It's time to make a record- LET'S DO THIS!
