Cannibal Collective is a card based party game with a bit of a difference. Here's the premise:
"You have been invited to attend the annual initiation banquet of the worldwide secret society known as the Cannibal Collective.
As is tradition, each initiate is required to provide their own feast comprising the 7 tastiest, most nutritious body parts.
The first initiate to provide their meal, complete with Heart, Lungs, Eyeball, Stomach, Kidney, Body and Brain, will become a lifelong member of the collective. The remaining candidates will be eaten by a large group of ravenous cannibals.
Best of luck. Oh, also be careful of extenuating factors, you know, your Platypusses of Doom, Krakens, appendix explosions, surgical mix ups... that kind of thing..."
Here's how it works:
After playing hundreds of hours of party games (the board game Risk was literally mentioned in our wedding vows) we realised we wanted to create our own game which addressed some key issues we had:
1. Everyone remains in the game until the very end. We hate it when a player has to sit around and wait for a round to finish until they can play again.
2. Anyone can win the game, no matter how bleak the outlook! All it takes is a strategically played card, or combination of cards, and your fortunes can be reversed! Everyone loves an underdog story.
3. A simple game, which allows you to have some creative control. In several of the cards in Cannibal Collective you create the rules (rules help control the fun...).
So then we started playing around with concepts and settled on cannibalism... you know... cos that's interesting...
Once the creative juices got flowing we ended up with a 72 card thriller with hundreds of twists and turns. We've now played it with our friends a lot and they have graciously allowed us to use some of their quotes from during game play below:
"It's really addictive" - Mikey Owen (not the footballer)
"Yeah, it's really good" - Linford
"Might be too good" - Jack
"I like the Platypus of Doom" - Sandy
"What's this card?" - Rochelle's Dad
So if you think this floats your boat and would like to play it for yourselves, then please back our Kickstarter. It would mean the world to us to have a collective group of people around the world playing our game and helping to make it better.

Risks and challenges
The risks and challenges all lie in producing the game really well and getting it into backer's hands. We will keep it simple and follow the example of some other great games by just sending the game and some limited extras.
We have been in contact with logistics companies and manufacturers and are reasonably confident we can get the game to everyone we need to... unless it is REALLY popular and then we may need a bit more time.
