In less than two days we have reached 100% funding and I am so deeply grateful to everyone who helped make that happen. Which means I can chase for two full weeks this summer. With many days left in the campaign let's rally together and try to and reach some stretch goals!
STRETCH GOAL ONE: ACHIEVED!
Raise an additional $5000.00 (total $11,900.00) in order to fund another full week of chasing! Those that help me reach this goal will all receive not only the reward for their pledge but also a bonus THANK YOU gift of a 5 x 7 printed postcard plus a text message from the chase should we spot a tornado!
STRETCH GOAL TWO:
Raise an additional $9000.00 (total $20,900) in order to fund another full week of chasing with the rental of a Medium format digital camera(makes stunning images... but damn expensive!) Those that help me reach this goal will all receive not only the reward for their pledge but also a bonus THANK YOU gift of a 2-5 x 7 printed postcard plus a text message with a photo from the chase should we spot a tornado!
I know with your help anything is possible. I really would not be able to any of what I do, if people like you did not help me. So a huge whopping Hug to you all!
HOW I BEGAN?
I was named for Hurricane Camille of 1969, is that coincidence?
I began Storm Chasing in 2008. I travel twice a year to the Great Plains of the USA to seek out and capture images of magnificent Super Cell storms and their structures. I seek out these storms of examples of the awesomeness that is our planet with the hopes of creating emotional connections for viewers who may never witness what I document with their own eyes.
I only take on long term (10 or more years) photographic projects, I am halfway through "The Big Cloud" project. I need your help to make it happen for this summer. The funds will be used to cover travel expenses equipment costs and processing & production costs at the end of July. In the past print sales from other bodies of work were the source of funding. This time I am bringing it more directly to you!
WHY I DO IT?
I was called to photography out of the desire to expose people to the amazing place we get to call our home, I want people to know and love this planet the way that I do.
WHAT MAKES IT POSSIBLE?
Any help you give would be an INCREDIBLE gesture of support and would serve as encouragement that this work is important, that beauty is important.
Risks and challenges
Well let's be honest, I am chasing potentially deadly storms that can produce tornados, dangerous hail and "that's all she wrote" lightening strikes, however I chase only with responsible trustworthy individuals and we do not take any unnecessary risks. As I am looking to fund only this year's chase, the possible risk outside of being killed is that for some strange reason there is no weather at all this summer (which can happen), but in my five years of doing this I have always come away with some magnificent images.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
