Aloha, my name is Cameron Brooks and I've been a professional photographer in Hawaii for the last 3 years. My artwork can already be seen in restaurants, hotels and luxury condos throughout the islands, including the Westin Hotel on Maui, and the Turtle Bay Resort on Oahu. My biggest compliment is when I get emails from fans and patrons saying, "That has to be the best picture ever taken of Waikiki, Lanikai, etc.."
Eaerlier this year, I was selected to fly over 2000+ people who had gathered in Kapiolani Park to create a massive human peace sign, this was an image seen around the world. Next month I'll be filming an enormous heart made out of people, that will gather near the Honolulu state capitol.
My most famous landscape shot happened last year in March, when I was taking lightning shots from my balcony at top floor of the Marco Polo. It was the only time in Hawaii anyone caught 3 bolts hitting 3 high rise buildings at the same time. The news didn't believe it was a real picture, so I had to send them the RAW file (which doesn't lie!)
There is something profound and spiritual to me about photography, and I feel that with every great new shot is the Universe trying to show me how perfect it is. I feel the most rewarded when I happen to line up an aerial shot in an artistic way.. and the most complimented when people ask me if the canvas I'm carrying with me is a painting instead!
With the contributions I raise through Kickstarter, I aim to expand my aerial photography campaign to the neighbor islands, going to Kauai first and then Maui. Even if my goal is met, being overfunded would be my biggest dream come true.. and I would be able to spend even more time in some of my favorite spots on the Big Island.
