About this project
Our handmade clothes are made with care. My mother, Maria Bold stretches the fabric, draws the pattern, cuts the fabric, sews it paying attention to all the details. She hand stitches buttons and button holes, she spends days embroidering by hand, and takes her time to iron the lining to make sure it sits perfectly against the cloth.
Our hats are also made with care. I block the hat using two layers of fabric and lots of steam. While it dries I can enjoy a glass of wine, then cut the desired shape, sew the wire, the beads, pearls, Swarowski crystals, the lining, and ribbon.
Because we care.
We care about the quality of the clothes we are making. I have been watching my mother make clothes all of my life. If I were to talk about one thing that I believe characterizes her work I would say that she redid her stitches until they were perfect. She never hid behind 'it's good enough'. As for me, I had the chance to learn from one of the best.
Our clothes are created to last a lifetime. We pay attention to every detail. Hand picking the finest fabrics and threads is the first step of the creative process. We are inspired by lively colors, silks, cloths, cottons and laces. Every stitch is characterized by precision and craftsmanship, whether it is an intricate hand embroidery, hand stitching of the buttons and button holes to prevent fraying and loose buttons, serged lining or double seams.
We also care about making the highest quality clothes in a socially responsible manner. Our clothes will be made by hand from start to finish and never by exploited labor. We strongly believe that great clothing can only be made with positive energy because, ultimately, handmade is a product of love.
We spent the last year working on our first collection sketching designs, procuring fabric, cutting patterns and sewing. We also invested time and effort into building a website.
We are now ready for our next phase: the expansion. Our dream is to have a design studio, a creative hub where we can do fashion the way we see it, as a personal and unique creative process. At this moment, our team is made of two people, me and my mother. We intend to attract more talented designers in our team. We will continue to handcraft our clothes and millinery collections helped by artists who share the same vision. A bigger team will enable us to make our clothes accessible to more people, and a percentage of the funds raised will go to marketing.
How can you be part of our dream?
If you believe that clothes should not be expendable, if you care about the quality of the clothes you are wearing and how they were created, you can preorder our collection by backing this project.
Meeting our funding goals will enable us to have a bigger team, make our clothes accessible to more people and continue to express our creativity in so many ways.
Raising funds on Kickstarter is all or nothing. If we do not meet our target of raising $30,000 we do not receive anything.
