Small World Z
Small World Z is a large expansion from the original Small World game developed for Ludum Dare 38 scheduled to be released by the end of Summer.
- PC: Windows, Mac, and Linux.
- Mobile: Android and iOS
- Handheld Console: New Nintendo 3DS
Why Small World?
The game started as a Ludum Dare entry and well the theme was small world so I wanted to capture how very minimal it can be but also vast/infinite at the same time. The infinite aspects surround the player, and your screen is your own small world.
Giving each npc you meet a permanent mark in the game and you may come across them again or you may never see them again. You can choose your relationships wether u want to just converse with someone, hire them as a follower to help you throughout your run as they swear their life to you, or wether u choose to mindlessly kill people for cash and exp grind. It's your choice really. Each decision with it's own permanent consequences. Every NPC you come across has its own life and stays in the game seemingly forever.
Why we need funding
The funding is mainly to cover iOS publishing fees as we have already put a lot of our own money into making this game.
"In Small World Z there are zombies that will infect other NPCs off screen. So you may not even know it but somewhere u can't see there might be a guy fighting off a zombie or running for his life."
We are a duo of a part time employee programmer and a college student musician with little budget for development. We have been making games for a few years and have a lot of experience developing. We are ready to bring our next cross platform title to the New 3DS.
Risks and challenges
This is our first release on a console platform and it can be nerve-racking and the process can be very complicated at times but we are determined to have a smooth cross-platform launch. Another obstical we have to hurdle through is publishing on iOS as it will also be our first iOS release. We need the funding to cover the license fees and then we still have to get around the rest of the process without a Mac computer.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
