About this project
Your whole life all you know is the United States of America. Your friends - your girlfriend - your food - the language you speak - your education - even the Pledge of Allegiance that you recited every day in school, is all from the United States. Imagine that one day you go about your day as usual, only to find out that the country that you love and support is forcing you to leave; forcing you away from all that you know and care about.
The film The DREAM Act follows the life of an immigrant that meets the above description. There are millions of people in our country who face these struggles every day. This film will be designed to give the country an inside peak into one immigrant's story.
The funds raised will be used to gain permits, transport cast, create sets, for necessary equipment, to promote and distribute The Dream Act. Our goal is for The DREAM Act to make it's way into theaters. We need a minimum of $130,000 to produce the film.
Please visit the following site for more information about the film.
The money we raise will be used on the cast, sets, permits, lighting, transportation, costumes, and most importantly distribution. We want to make sure this film makes it big - this story is a message that needs to be heard.
The film is a fictitious story about a dreamer. The story will use real situations, interactions with others, denials into colleges, job rejections, romance, family deportations, presidential decisions, and other circumstances that a dreamer has to live with. The story will revolve around the dream act, where the fate of this dreamer will depend on the terms and conditions of the whether or not the dream act is passed.
Sure! One of the main reasons we wanted to launch The DREAM Act on Kickstarter is because we wanted to share the project with the world. Our director is a relatively new director who loves to be inspired by others. If you have ideas about scenes, if you want to be a critic, if you want a chance to be an actor/actress in the film, if you have great music that can be used for the film, if you are an amazing artist, or if you want to take a part in the editing or promoting, we would love for you to join us make this film as amazing as possible!
