Date: Saturday 20th June 2015, Doors open at 5pm.
Venue: St George's Church, Kemptown, Brighton.Google Maps Linky.
Misc: Age 14 and over. 16 years and under must be accompanied by adult. Licensed bar available. Seating is unallocated.
Before the show (1pm - 4pm): C64 personalities will be stationed at nominated pubs in the area (within walking distance) and a map sent by PDF to all attendees, thus leading to a C64 themed pub experience. This does not, of course, require a ticket, and our map is guidance only: C64 celebs will appear as circumstances permit.
Aftershow: 11pm-2am The Thomas Kemp Pub (limited availability). Up your pledge by an extra £12 per person for this! This venue is a great pub 300 yards from the church..

Well, it was a nice idea. But this isn't going to happen, is it ? :)

Regular tickets are £35. Early backers get a ground ticket and later backers get a balcony ticket. While there are generally good views from the balcony, there are some limited view sightlines there.
There are a small number of premium tickets at £50.
Seats are unallocated in all sections.
VIP or Sponsor backers have their own section, and who are also invited to come to the church earlier in the day to chill, hang and watch rehearsals. VIP+ sponsors can attend some SID80s rehearsal, which is always a blast.
More tickets will be released as the Kickstarter progresses, but capacity needs to be very carefully managed.
** PLEDGE WITH CONFIDENCE **
If you pledge on this Kickstarter and find before May 31st 2015 that you can't come to the event, we will refund your money (except for the 10% KS/payment processing fee). e-Tickets will be sent out June 1st, at which point no refunds can be issued.

For £15 you can upgrade to a Limited T-Shirt with a gig design on the front. It's expected you would pick this up at the event. You will be able to choose your size/colour/design after the Kickstarter.
Only a limited amount of T-shirts will be available to buy on the day.

Aftershow Pass - now available as an upgrade for £12 per aftershow pass (please upgrade your pledge accordingly). This allows youto attend the 11pm - 2am pissup in the pub almost next door to the church.
VIP/VIP+ backers and corporate sponsors (should there be any) get automatic entry.

The funding has to cover a lot of costs:
Venue hire
Event Management
Ticketing and Stewarding
Travel expenses
Accommodation expenses
Artist fees
Insurance
PRS Royalties
Piano tuning
... not to mention soft costs such as promotion, web hosting, etc.
Kickstarter thanks to Al Busby (co-organiser), Trevor Storey (Art), Johnnathan Taylor (Video), Sasa Sochadse (Rainbows), and Anna Black (tweets), as well as St. George's Church, and all at Melting Vinyl. Also thanks to everyone who has twittered and FB'd. I'm afraid to start mentioning everyone individually since I'd probably forget someone, but if this is a success, a big part of it is down to the pre-Kickstarter support.
Risks and challenges
The organising team for this is Chris Abbott and Alan Busby (without whom this wouldn't be happening). Alan did a great job of putting the venue, organisation and aftershow together, and will be around on the day, being a Brighton native. Chris has lots of experience putting C64 shows like this together.
So this is a fairly well defined task: the venue is already booked in preparation, the acts are well-prepared and experienced.
While there's a chance that one or more of the acts (or their members) suddenly can't make it, we would have to fill the time with alternate entertainment, but there's plenty of that in the C64 Universe.
So, apart from the venue cancelling or falling down, or all the acts dying, we're pretty good. No extra licencing is needed for the alcohol or the concert, so that's not an issue either.
The Kickstarter is priced to cover all the costs of the basic concert, including VAT, Kickstarter fees, venue hire, insurance, organisation, flights, trains, automobiles, hotels, rehearsal, equipment hire, sound and lights, piano tuning, security, etc... so there is no real risk of suddenly finding the event unfunded.
Um.. that's it, really!
