Hi Gang. If you are just checking this out for the first time, skip down a few paragraphs. We are gonna talk about Stretch Goals and add-ons here at the top now.
Stretch goals. Wah-hoooooo. Thank you so much for getting all up in this! We made the first all or nothing goal. Now it’s all Gravy. Here’s what is available.
Fishstache by Andrew MacLean add-on glow or rootbeer vinyl $45. One of each color for $90
Prankakes by Tim Biskup add-on glow or rootbeer vinyl $44. One of each color for $88
For clarity- There is no stand alone option for Prankakes or Fishstache. This is an add-on for those that pick a reward at the Malba Basic or greater.
Please note. We haven't officially decided which body Fishstache will be using. It could be the fungi Malba style body or the Lonny body, which at the time we were originally talking, Andrew liked the best.
UNLOCKED 11K Stretch goal. Enamel pin for everyone at the Malba Basic and up. This will be a freebee thank you gift, just for playing.
UNLOCKED 12K New fancier die-cut header card. This will also be included at no additional charge for Malba Basic and greater rewards.
UNLOCKED 13K Prankakes by Tim biskup.
Yet to be unlocked-
16k Hooligan's Hideout. It's a big flipping skull!
Here's how this works. It's actually very simple. 1) Click the "manage your pledge" button here on the page. 2) Increase your pledge by the desired amount. Example. If you picked up the Malba basic for $44, then you would add another $45 if you want one Fishstache. 3) Save your pledge. Do NOT change the tier that you originally pledged at. I will see this on your backer report and automatically know that you want the add on. It's that easy! After the campaign is over, we will then also have a chance to double check what you are adding on.
Hi. My name is Bwana Spoons. I'm an artist living in Portland Oregon. I love to draw, paint, sculpt, and create things the old fashioned way, with my hands. After years of working with some fantastic toy makers here in the States, and Japan, in 2013 I started Gravy Toys, and began producing sofubi (soft vinyl toys made in Japan) on my own.
Thanks to you, Gravy is shredding the cosmos. We have completed two curated art and toy shows featuring new takes on my Brodarr buddies. We've also made loads of new Suns Of Brodarr characters, guest artists creations, and even a new version of my old friend Steven The Bat, all made into glorious sofubi art toys since the first KickStarter.
I am ready to "Level Up" and make a larger scale beast, and a new Suns Of Brodarr character with more moving parts, and make 2018 NUTS! With your help I can do this, and you will reap the rewards with some completely wackadoodle new characters, comics, original art, and more. We could call this one "Let's make Malba, and Krackle & Klong" but I think "Gravy Toys Mega Load" seems more appropriate. The sculpts for Malba and Krackle & Klong are complete, and have already landed in Japan. Now we just need to get them turned into sofubi gems. Let's meet the new crew.
Malba is a really fun guy. He is a wanderer always in search of fresh new beats, looking for boomboxes and drum circles. Malba can feel the vibrations of good tunes in his mushroom toes, and when he does, he just points his beak in the right direction and gets to steppin'. He could be best described as hippy chicken fungi rainbowbarf.
Krackle & Klong. I have spent a lot of time imagining what the Suns Of Brodarr characters might ride around in. A garbage truck converted into a secret base, vintage motorcycles, and mopeds, dragsters and muscle cars, and even a motorcycle with tractor treads and a freezer in the back to sell ice cream and meat hunks out of. I finally decided on something a little more organic, and could be it's own stand alone character in this world. Meet Krackle & Klong, the two headed turtle volcano. Wandering the planet looking for good grub, and occasionally having an eruptive argument. Let K&K play on their own, or pop a Brodarr figure down into the volcano for a ride.
Where does your money go? I have a pretty good idea how much it costs to make one of my figures... approx 6 parts (head/torso arms/legs) usually runs me roughly 4k after wax, metal molds, shipping, paypal and broker fees, and sculpting, if I hire a sculptor. With these two toys it will be a bit more, not too much for Malba, but maybe another 2-4k for Krackle & Klong just because he is so big. I can go more into that in the FAQ. The rewards are the next big expense, and the whole reason we are doing this jazz. those sexy rewards. When I get that box in the mail with that first pull of a new sculpt, it's usually enough to bring a few happy tears to my eyes. It's hard to beat that feeling.
I've set a modest goal of 9k for this project. It's not nearly enough to fully fund this project, but this will be plenty enough help for me to get these gems done. I'm estimating, after rewards and all other expenses, it will be give or take 15k, so that is my true goal. Just help me get to 9k, and I can get us the rest of the way there.
Stretch goals... yes! All I can say right now is holy turdles, they are good. Let's get this thing rolling and talk about them as we go.
First, a note about pricing. All these rewards a pretty stellar, the more you pack in though, the greater the discount is for helping to support this project and hopping up on the gravy volcano. Thanks so much for your support.
Fun! You're feeling like supporting this project just because, although after seeing the photo above, maybe you are second guessing this:)
Stickerpak. Yes these will be superior or at least pretty damn silly and fun.
The comic. World Beat is a fully painted comic staring our new friend Malba on a short but ridiculous journey. Malba is out finding pulsing beats and new friends. This could be it's own Kickstarter Project in itself. I had this wonderful idea to do a fully painted comic. Pretty much every page is an original painting. I thought I could do a few pages a week and bust this out in no time. In reality, it was an exercise in pain, occasional joy, and more pain. I ended up working on 20 plus pages off and on for 2 years. Sequential art I love you and I hate you to the nth degree. This just needs a few touch ups and scanning before sending off to the printer. I'm very happy with this little book. I learned so much, and completing this is my own great reward. I hope you enjoy it too.
Neon KnuckleheadsTee. Oh what a beautiful design. One of my greatest joys is working with artists that I admire. Thomas Fernandez of Liverad Studios did this fantastic piece of the original three Brodarr Bros. Jeff, Lonny, and Drizz for Brodarrfest, an art show which took place at the first Five Points Fest in NYC last year. This tee is exclusive to this KS campaign. This tee will be US made, and regular fit. I'm going to limit the ink colors to three- black, neon pink and yellow, and will probably do a split fountain on that yellow for a little extra color in there. My printer, Mixed Species has always knocked everything they touch, out of the park, and this will be no different. Check out Thomas on instagram @liveradstudios

Krackle & Klong DX. This is the painted version. The vinyl color will be glow, and there will be 3-5 color sprays with a few handpaint elements. Eyes and some other bits. + World Beat comic + T-shirt + stickerpak.
Make Mine A One-Off Malba. Signed and numbered custom Malba + World Beat comic + T-shirt + stickerpak. This will be the first 10 one-off Malba. unique sprays and hand painted elements. A one of a kind piece of art.
Make Mine A One-Off Krackle & Klong. Signed and numbered custom Krackle & Klong + World Beat comic + T-shirt + stickerpak. This will be the first 10 one-off Malba. unique sprays and hand painted elements. A one of a kind piece of art.
The Oh Sh*t! Signed and numbered custom Krackle & Klong + Signed and numbered custom Malba + Original page from World Beat comic + Wolrd Beat Comic + T-shirt + stickerpak. Plus an original page from the World Beat Comic- Acrya-gouache on watercolor paper. Which is also an original piece of art. Pages will be chosen at random.
Ultimate Mega Oh Sh*t! We could also call this "The Chocolate Teacup That WAY Overfloweth" or "If The Earth WAS Really Flat It Would Now Definitely Tip Over" Krackle & Klong + Malba + EVERY character made thus far by Gravy Toys in Dark Chocolate which includes Jeff, Lonny, Drizz, Quiller by Paul Kaiju, Kamisama by T9G, Private Hooligan, Aqualox by Skinner, Garak by Comet Debris, Terry King Bootlegger, UGLY with Parking Meter Basher by UGLYDOLLS, Paulo The Moonlight Kreeper, Paleodon by Rampage Toys, Morel Black, Cyborg Stardust, The 3 Jungle Goobers- Peter, Little Honey, and Bigdog, Steven The Bat, Stankor, Eyebora, and if we make his Stretch Goal- Fishstache by Andrew maclean + Original page from World Beat Comic + World Beat comic + T-shirt + stickerpak. Disclaimer... a few of these guys are made at different places so chocolates may vary. Just a little. Wow... I need a set of this for myself just so I can see it done and see them all together like this. I will bring them out every appropriate holiday and display them like delicious food on a table.
Shrooodingers Bwana Sauce Oh Sh*t! This includes me hand delivering the “Ultimate Mega Oh Sh*t!” package anywhere in the 50 states (international too, but extra flight fees will apply), we have dinner together at your favorite restaurant or home, I stay in a hotel, or on your livingroom couch, and feed your animals in the morning, before I start a very special mural or large painting for you. Side note. We should have a little chat first just to make sure we are on the same page with the commission, timeline, ect... as this could cost more, depending on if this is a private commission, or if this is at Amazon's new penthouse headquarters in the "Goat Blocks" in SE Portland.
Thank you for checking this out. I truly appreciate that you are even here, and if you're backing this project, you have double the gratitude. I'm giving you a virtual high five right now, and if we meet in person I will give you a real high five too, and maybe we can play some liars dice.
Please pass this on to your friends and peers. Maybe you are thinking- early holiday gift for that kooky friend, or maybe you're mom just loves mushrooms. Mine loves turtles, and that is definitely been passed down to me. Even if you aren't backing this project, and you just like to laugh at the funny man, then pass it on. Every little bit counts.
Disclaimer. These are not toys for tiny people. Soft vinyl can handle rough play, but isn't made to chew on, and some parts are way pointy. This is art that adults can play with. Just for the sake of saying it. Let's call this 18+ art toys. More in the FAQ about everything.

Risks and challenges
I have worked with sofubi makers in Japan for many years now. I have good relationships with my broker, and with the main factory that I work with, but there are always some small risks involved.
The biggest risk is factory delays, usually just a month or two, but occasionally longer. I have tried to set a realistic plan for reward fulfillment, but if there is a delay I will let you know.
My biggest worry is having stuff lost or damaged in the mail. I haven't had anything lost before, but there has been damage. One time customs opened up my box, tossed out the top half of a foam clam shell, and just sealed it back up. Everything floated around in there and pieces were broken. It just took a little extra time to fix.
this time Malba and Stretch goal pieces arrived safely in Japan. But Krackle & Klong's giant shell had damage, so it's already on it's way back to me for repairs, and will take a couple days of love, before being shipped back out to Japan. I have already accounted for this in the rewards timeline, so we should be all good on that Krackle & Klong too.
