The face cards Jack, Queen, King and the Ace represent the Top-4 naval powers in 2017. USA, China, Russia and Japan.
Each country rank and their respective ships were carefully analysed and selected, this was not a quick Wikipedia search, instead a thorough assessment was made on each ship class. Rankings were based primarily on these factors: Tonnage, ships in-service of each class, vessel age, weapon technology and modernization programs.
Sources: Futurebattles.com, Janes, multiple-open source sites.
Number Cards represent the Top-20 naval powers of the 21st Century in descending order. Ordered: Spades-Diamonds-Clubs-Hearts then 10 through 2. Although many different games have varied suit rankings, the ranking between different countries is primarily reflected in its number value, the four number 10 cards represent countries ranked ranked 5th - 8th.
You may notice that there are no submarines... this was intentional, they are the silent service, the Special Forces of any worthy naval power. If war was to break out and a Nuclear submarine is called into action; well, it's kind of all over by then. Plus they are really deserving of their own deck... hint hint.
This deck is perfect to learn about the world’s Best Naval Ships and a great way to mix up your next card game with something totally different.
Jokers were a bit of fun and represent the world’s pirate community. The two cards capture both sides of their plight, both the desperation of fishermen turned to piracy and the dangerous pirate groups that put a little more effort into their attempts.... although no match for Modern Warships.
The Card Back represents the worlds most Modern Warship from the US Navy, that being the USS Zumwalt. Although many could argue other ships dwarf this destroyer, its revolutionary design and steps towards future weaponry and laser technology squarely puts it in the modern category, and we believe it's deserving of selection.
Along with the 54 custom cards, there are 2 bonus cards, one cut card (double backed USS Zumwalt) and an information card explaining the deck's theme.
This deck also features a custom designed tuck case sticker seal, representing an old WW2 style warship radar screen to reflect on how far we've come.
A big Thank You! to anyone who helps spread the word; every little bit helps. Share with your friends on Facebook.
