UPDATE: WE MADE IT! LET'S KEEP IT GOING!
A BIG Thank You to you all who have already backed this project - we made our goal and INSTALLATION HAS BEGUN!
But that doesn't mean that we should stop, let's shoot for the stars and help raise as much as possible to support Janet and her amazing work (ALL proceeds go directly to her project costs)! And you can still get your hands on some valuable and momentous artwork celebrating this historic event!
Check out some pictures of the beginnings of the install process under our "PROJECT UPDATES'.
I'm Chris from BAF, an arts non-profit that aims to bring awesome public art to the City of Vancouver. We're beyond excited to be a co-presenter of this project, and part of an initiative to help make a monumental public art experience happen for our fellow urban dwellers, and to bring all you Kickstarters in on the action as well!
Together, we have the opportunity to be part of one of the most exciting and monumental public art installations in recent memory - world-renowned artist Janet Echelman's biggest public sculpture yet. At 700 FEET in length, this massive aerial sculpture will be stretched and suspended from the roof of the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel and the Vancouver Convention Centre. The project is being timed in conjunction with the celebrated 30th Anniversary of the TED Conference, this year held in Vancouver B.C., where Janet is speaking.
ABOUT ARTIST JANET ECHELMAN
From San Francisco to New York City, Amsterdam to Sydney, and India to Portugal, Janet Echelman has been captivating thousands with her public art installations that awe and inspire. Echelman's urban sculptures span the volume of high rises, but float with the lightness of clouds. She has been featured in numerous publications (like the New York Times), and her talent has caught the wonder and acclaim of so many people around the World (including likes of Oprah).
SO WHAT'S THE DEAL?
Janet is so passionate about her work, she is personally borrowing funds to support the installation costs of this project. We're here to help!
We've collaborated with Janet to offer a series of photographic postcard prints, t-shirts, signed limited edition fine art screen prints and beautifully crafted etched wood pieces in exchange for pledges of support to help cover the costs of this installation project.
Janet rarely offers her work to the public, so don't miss this chance and check out all the great opportunities to become a proud owner and collector of a world-renowned Artist!
PHOTOGRAPHIC POSTCARD PRINTS
Pledgers will receive a digital Photographic Print that will be sent directly to their homes, "Postcard" style!
The image will be of the actual sculpture project, the examples below are of past Echelman projects, and meant ONLY AS EXAMPLES.
We are offering Men's and Women's t-shirts, in sizes ranging from SMALL to EXTRA LARGE.
These t-shirts are inspired directly by the Vancouver sculpture; this design is derived from the actual netting studies.

Risks and challenges
Expect to receive striking, individually-produced pieces of art from a world-renowned Artist, in conjunction with a historic public art project.
In relation to the artwork being offered, risks and challenges may come in the form of slight variations in color/tone due to mis-translation to the photo and video contained on this page.
In terms of the funding of the project, as mentioned above, the cost of installation will be paid for, it is just a matter of whether Janet pays for it with money borrowed personally, or Kickstarter helps us raise some money to avoid that!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
