Many of you checking out this project already know us-- family, friends and fans, thanks for all your love and support over the years.
For those of you who don't yet know us, BURNT is a 100% independent band from California. We dabble in various styles of rebel music, from ska to reggae, hip hop, punk rock, high-life and so much more. We've been a band since 2003, and have independently produced seven albums of original material, and we're looking to YOU to help us fund album number eight!
In November we started recording our new project, and like most BURNT albums this project has been a collaboration with many of our amazingly talented musical friends. This includes members of The Debonaires from Riverside, B-JAH from the band Beyond Rhythm, legendary hip hop artist Karmic Basis, Michael "Miguel" Happoldt from the Long Beach based band Perro Bravo, Nathan McCoy AKA Rivel contributing on tracks all the way from the UK, and many more talented friends... special shout-out to our amazing friend and artist Jimmy Ovadia for contributing the beautiful walrus piece to the album art.
We're in the final stages of music production now, and we're so excited to share our new music with you! We've launched this Kickstarter campaign to get your support with pressing our very first vinyl record! It's going to be an epic, double album, filled with twenty new BURNT songs.
We're putting up half of the costs of production, including mastering and record pressing, and we're hoping that everyone will meet us half way and help us raise the remaining $2500 needed to make the vinyl album happen!
So it's pretty simple: everyone who chips in $30 gets the album on record. If you contribute $100 or more you get an autographed copy signed by the band. All donations will also get you a free digital download of the album as well.
So there it is! Please share everybody and help us spread the word about our campaign. We love you all and we thank you for supporting independent music!
Risks and challenges
We understand vinyl is expensive, and somewhat of a niche medium, but we know that this is an album of quality music and have designed it to be played loud and evoke dancing-- it will sound great on a record! For people that aren't into vinyl, we will also be making the album available for digital download.
We're on schedule to complete music production and head into professional sound mastering sessions on 4/21! In addition, we've made contact with our vinyl pressing company Pirates Press in San Francisco. They are a well respected record pressing outfit and will produce a high quality product. They are standing by to receive our master audio recordings for the album and head into manufacturing!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
