Hello friends!

If you haven't seen already, I wanted to let you know that last week we launched a Kickstarter for our latest Torchbearer supplement, Middarmark. You can find the project here.

Middarmark is a gazetteer inspired by Scandinavian myth and folktales.

If you can recall the hoary days of 2013, during the Torchbearer Kickstarter, you'll remember that we promised a free PDF of Middarmark to all backers.

Last Thursday, we sent a message to all Torchbearer backers through Kickstarter that contained a link to a preview draft of Middarmark. If you missed it, log in to Kickstarter and check your inbox.

If you spot any typos or errors, feel free to let us know about them here.

When we finalize the PDF, we will send the finished version to all Torchbearer backers.

All the best!

The Hand of the Pit

Torchbearers, Tavern Dwellers and Tall-Tale-Tellers,

We are recently returned from an arduous trek. Using maps gleaned from years of studious research, we explored (and plundered) the vast mortuary complex known as "Indianapolis." Best not to speak of the horrors we encountered, lest they hear us…

But we can't resist boasting a bit of our encounter with the infamous Hand of the Pit. Summoned from Hell by the infamous recalcitrant wizard known as Todd James, we did battle with weird beast in the great ritual known as Gen Con.

You can read the tale of our encounter in our small manuscript—map included should you wish to verify our claims—for only five silver coins. We humbly hope you enjoy this exploit, for we have more and grander in store for the future!

In the days of old, a giant demon hand clawed its way up from the Pit to the mine of Whelcrag, scattering gleaming gold spoor in its wake. A man-eating ogre works for the Hand, bringing it souls to feed its demonic hunger! Will you dare the haunted mine?

Last year, we held a contest, inviting Torchbearer fans to submit pitches for a new Torchbearer adventure. The winning entry would be published by BWHQ. Torchbearer fan Todd James won the contest, and his adventure is now available!

Riddled with mind-bending illustrations, The Hand of the Pit, by writer and illustrator Todd James, is a new, 2nd level adventure for Torchbearer. You can download a PDF of the adventure for just $5!

Hello friends! We've been quiet for a long spell, but we have not been idle. We've just released a new Torchbearer adventure for you to sink your teeth into, with cover art by Peter Mullen, interiors by Todd James and a map by Dyson Logos!

Delve into the Secrets Beneath Highwater

Tamar, secretive master thief of the port city of Highwater, is dead. The rumors say she dropped face-first into a bowl of soup yesterday while supping with her lover at The Three of Cups in Saltown near the docks. It happened just days after she stole the fist-sized jewel known as the Jackal's Eye from the sinister cult of Maata Re, Mistress of Plagues. Her lover has not been seen since.

Amidst the stories of conspiracy and murder, the underworld of Highwater is abuzz with tales of the secret vault of the Queen of Thieves, where Tamar is thought to have kept priceless trophies of her many adventures, perhaps even the Jackal's Eye, along with deadly traps to guard them. The race is on to find the vault; whoever does may become wealthy beyond their wildest imaginings.

Return to the World of The Three Squires and Skogenby

The first official Torchbearer scenario since The Dread Crypt of Skogenby, The Secret Vault of the Queen of Thieves features fiendish traps, a new monster, a new town for adventurers to hail from and two new town locations -- the Docks and the Thieves' Guild!

The Secret Vault of the Queen of Thieves is a city-based adventure for third-level characters, though lower-level characters can handle it if played skillfully. It should take a session or two of play. The scenario is set in the port city of Highwater, about six days south of The Three Squires, but you can drop it into your game whenever the characters visit a Bustling Metropolis or Busy Crossroads in your home setting.

Available now in PDF for $5.

All right, sweethearts, what are you waiting for? Breakfast in bed? Another glorious day in the Corps! A day in the Marine Corps is like a day on the farm. Every meal's a banquet! Every paycheck a fortune! Every formation a parade! I LOVE the Corps!

Jared Sorensen and I have a present for you all. Just a little thing that we cooked up in our spare time.

Any questions?
