Along a Burning River is 72 pages of comic book storytelling based around the fine state of Ohio. Whether it’s about a local myth or legend, or simply a setting, the state of Ohio and its rich history star in every story. Every creator featured on this project lives in Ohio. They have inhaled the fires of the steel mills, waded in the muddy waters of the Ohio, the Cuyahoga, the Scioto, reaped the bounty of sweet corn, and dripped in the blood and sweat that the Rust Belt baptizes its inhabitants in.
We put together this anthology as a labor of love. We all love comics and we wanted to put ourselves out there into the industry. With time and money always being factors, we pulled our resources and created Along a Burning River. It’s a showcase of our passion, talent, dedication, and dreams. A little piece of each of us rests somewhere within these pages. We want to share that with all of you.

William and Robbie Bumback are two brothers who try to share their love for storytelling and the visual medium through comics. With William providing the voices to each character through the script and Robbie visualizing the emotions and actions these characters have, and both working on the story as a whole, they are trying to tell interesting and complex stories that, at the core, focus on the characters and their personal and external conflicts with the people and world around them. The best teacher they have is the movies, comics, and tv shows they grew up on, ranging from anime to deep dive character studies. They hope to combine all these inspirations into something uniquely distinct to them.
