Material Change from Plywood to MDF

Posted by Allen Swan (Creator)

My original prototype is made out of plywood.  After I got it back I realized that I needed to find a different material because the lazer is so hot that it causes the plywood glue to become liquid again and causes a brown residue on the edges that will make it difficult to paint.

I did some research and found that the best material to use is MDF because it cuts cleaner and is easier to glue and paint.

The cost will be the same so I will still be able to create the terrain at a reasonable cost.

I will also be able to get the MDF in thinner boards allowing for building 15mm terrain in a modular concept.
