Buppa is so powerful.
Buppa is so loved.
BuppaLaPaloo is a cuddly, soft teddy bear, a Best Friend for your child. Buppa joyfully speaks powerful statements of self-love in First Person. Your child repeats the First Person statements back to Buppa, learning to claim their self-love and power for themselves.
This soft, little bear unconditionally loves your child. By speaking these strong, affirmative statements, Buppa makes it okay for your child to feel internally strong, powerful and loved. Buppa gives your child permission to love themselves. Knowing how to love themselves, your child will be more able to love others.
High self-esteem comes from loving yourself−not for what you do, or how much you accomplish−for JUST BEING YOU. How many of us, as adults, can say we truly love ourselves and can claim our power in this world?
Psychologists agree that a child's personality and basic life pattern is firmly embedded by the ages of 4-7. Early childhood self-love is vitally important to how children will see, be and interact in their world, creating the world we all live in.
BuppaLaPaloo introduces your child to the joy of loving themselves, encouraging interaction between the bear, the child, and a parent or a caregiver. Buppa is perfect for children ages 3-7, or for anyone who wants to learn how to better value themselves!
Low self-esteem is a real problem. Jack Canfield, Author of “Chicken Soup for the Soul®” book series, in his quest to understand self-esteem, found a huge shift from childhood to teenage years.
Why the huge shift? Simple. Children did not learn how to love themselves.
Low self-esteem can lead to major problems in a person’s life such as bullying, poor grades, eating disorders and teen suicide, to name a few. It affects our happiness and success everywhere in life−our relationships, our careers and our health. Here are the facts:
BULLYING : 16.9% percent of high school students report being bullied; 64% percent of them do not report it.
EATING DISORDERS: 2.5% of kids develop Anorexia and Bulimia at age 13; 3% by age 17.
SOCIAL BEHAVIOR: 75% of adolescent girls with low self-esteem participate in bullying, drinking, smoking, cutting themselves, or develop an eating disorder (compared to 25% of girls with high self-esteem). Teenage girls with low self-esteem are 4x more likely to participate in sexual activity with boys that they regret later (compared to girls with high self-esteem).
Actress, Author, Life Coach, Dee Wallace had a dream. You may know her best as the Mom from the movie,“E.T., The Extraterrestrial.”
“As I did more and more private coaching sessions in Life Creation, it became urgently apparent that everyone−100% of everyone I worked with−had no idea how to love and accept themselves.”
Dee was also studying the brain and its development, especially in children. She learned that the part of the brain that measures our worth is established in the first 18 months. A child’s personality is set in the brain usually by age 4. The foundation is set and we build on that for the rest of our lives. If we do not have a solid core of loving ourselves for who we are (not what we accomplish), we spend a lifetime trying to get acknowledgment of our worth. However, without that core truth and experience embedded at an early age, it is an uphill battle.
Passionate about self-esteem and self-love, especially in children, Dee embarked on creating a simple, lovable toy that would support a child in saying powerful, loving statements about themselves.
We have researched, redesigned and prototyped this little bear. We have designed and developed a Backpack Bear, a book, a song for this bear and his friends, the “ILOVEMEs.”
We have spent endless hours discussing marketing, packaging, licensing and fur! BuppaLaPaloo is ready to become a household name!
The first 1,000 bears are ordered, and we are hoping to order the first set of Backpack Bears soon. We are ready to launch a massive PR Campaign, and have signed with Sage Licensing. This is how we will use the funds from Kickstarter:
Our appearance at Toy Fair made it apparent that Buppa was needed and applicable to many more markets than originally planned: Pre-teen girls, Children's Hospitals, Retirement Homes and Alzheimer Units.
Please join us in bringing BuppaLaPaloo to market, and into the lives and hearts of children and millions more who need to reinforce their worth in this world!
BuppaLaPaloo has inspired a book! The BuppaLaPaloo Book Series further reinforces the importance of loving yourself, as well as loving others. Preliminary sketches and renderings begin to develop Buppa and his friends, the “ILOVEMEs.”
To date, Book 1 is written and currently being illustrated. It is due to be released in 2016.
BuppaLaPaloo has inspired a song too!
To date, the first song is written and will be recorded at the end of 2015.
Listen to a rough cut here! The second song is also written!
Buppa is a gift to the world.
And so is your child.
Thank you for your consideration in supporting BuppaLaPaloo.
Risks and challenges
Much of the research and work has been completed for BuppaLaPaloo. It has passed US Safety & Compliance Testing. We have identified a manufacturer and we are confident in their ability to bring as many bears to life as we need! Although we have price and timelines estimated, there is a possibility that there could be a delay in shipping.
For the Backpack Bear, we are still waiting for Testing to be completed. If things take longer than expected, there may be shipping delays.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
