About

What's up everybody! Well here we are at the crossroads of a 20+ year career, and before I even get started I just want to say thanks to all of you who have listened to our music and supported us since our first album "Home" was released in 1995. I felt blessed then and I still feel the same way today.
Over the last few years, people have been asking, "When are you guys gonna put out another record?" Well the time has come and now, with YOUR help, it’s finally going to happen!
Since our last studio album "The Mission Field" in 2011, we have been touring and coming up with ideas for the next record, and after a lot of soul searching, we have decided that this will be the last studio album from Blessid Union of Souls.
This is an exciting yet bittersweet time for us, and we couldn’t think of a better way to close out this chapter of our career than to share it with you.

We decided that we want this record to be an extension of our early releases and though the production will bring the songs more up to date; the timeless message of love, hope, and unity will still remain. This record will encompass the same positive, uplifting energy that our fans have come to expect from a Blessid Union record.

Our inspiration for songs comes from various things; love, tragedy, social issues or just the sheer fun of making up new songs. I really can't pinpoint the source of emotions, but I do know that I am feeling moved to say something about what’s going on in the world today.
All of us know when we’re motivated and inspired... And for the band and me, that time is now.

Growing up listening to Prince, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Elton John and Stevie Wonder (just to name a few), I was aware of the effect that music had on people. The connections made between each other through music always fascinated me. It doesn’t matter what part of the world you’re in…what race you are, what your economic condition is... music is universal and it has been a humbling experience for me to have made music that people can relate to.
That’s why we are asking you, our fans, friends, brothers and sisters to support our Kickstarter campaign.
In the beginning we started without a label. All we had were some very personal experiences and ideas that we hoped people could relate to. That's where we started and with YOUR help that is where this journey will end.

One thing I have learned over the years is that making a record is expensive! Recording studios, producers, engineers, mixing, mastering, manufacturing and distribution are all essential in making a successful record... and that's just the beginning.
This campaign is just our minimum goal to complete a great album for you. If we raise additional funds we hope to be able to hire people for the various stages of promotion and marketing, shoot a great video (or two) to expose our message on a larger scale, and most importantly, to be able to tour and meet our fans face to face.

Even the smallest of donations are needed and appreciated but as with all Kickstarter campaigns, the more you pledge, the more cool stuff you get.
All the levels are listed to your right but we welcome your input for additional ideas.

We will deliver a quality finished product as we want this final Blessid Union of Souls record to be a defining moment in our career. You, our fans, have sustained us the last 20+ years and there is just no way that we are going to let you down. Thank you in advance for your support!

Risks and challenges
As with anything worth putting your heart and soul into, there will be risks and challenges, for the band and contributors. We will keep you updated on the progress of the record throughout the campaign once our pledge is met and hopefully exceeded and as things move forward, we will have a better idea, on when each reward will be fulfilled and when the album is going to be released so we humbly ask for your patience throughout this process.
