Have a question?
Well, I backed 20＄and I got In Vitra (and could have got Villagers, but that's not my type of games). It could be better, but at least I don't feel robbed. I am still hoping for more updates and, who knows, one day, Days of Dawn.
I can only speculate, but InVitro is likely a game they did a contract for. And we get the key. With Villagers in the mix, I am not disapointed by this Kickstarter, even if we are still waiting for Says of Dawn.
@Niko - Looks like it.
Stylistically it also looks a lot like what is promised for Days of Dawn so hopefully they will be able to reuse large parts of the game engine.
And we can get a free copy!
Bumblebee is making a new JRPG?!
There is one small hope I still hold: Maybe Bumblebee is locked in some legal struggle with the partner they got for Days of Dawn. I think you're generally forbidden from commenting on issues pertaining to open legal cases in Germany.
On can always hope, right? :-/
Correction: I'm backing Thaumistry for now, but I will pull out if Bumblebee has not produced any useful update on KS before the KS campaign on Thaumistry closes.
Tassilo is the pixel artist for Thaumistry. Guess which project I won't back.
It's a shame really, because the project itself looks quite promising. But with such an unreliable artist onboard I can't recommend to back it.
lol... it is now 2017 and the best we got is the good olde
"Update is coming soon"
Ah well here's to another expensive example of money being wasted during my youth =P
Another year has passed. This sucks!
This is what Tassilo replied me on twitter when I asked about this kickstarter:
"The bad news is: Still no DoD :( The good news is: I'm on something that will pave the way for DoD. Update is coming soon."
Ugh... really wishing I hadn't backed this project, at this point. :\
Welp I figured I'd do my usual rounds on checking up on KS... and judging from the FB + Homepage all the effort seems to have gone to working on *another* game that just got published *and* released...
The real slap in the face here is the fact that on the press release about BB Games it takes pride in "2 successful" KS campaigns... maybe someone should mention 1 out of 2 of those campaigns has become vaporware at this point?
I sent the following email to Tassilo on August 18 (almost 3 months ago) via KS "Contact me" button as well as to the 2 email addresses:
firstname.lastname@example.org email@example.com and never got a reply
It's one of your KS backers wanting to know if there is any signs of life on Days Of Dawn? I've noticed that you last logged in to KS on 7/12/16. Should that be reassuring to us backers (you know the ones that helped your campaign initially to get off the ground?) that you haven't completely abandoned us all? I believe that it would be in your best interest to post an update (even if might be your last one) and let all your backers in on where you stand with this game and if it so happens that you've completely abandoned this project, it might also be in your best interest to share it with the rest of us so at the very least, you can put the final nail in the proverbial coffin and that way, at least we can finally get some closure to this sad, sad chapter of this non existent game (no one backs a project just so they can play a demo and never see a game come to fruition. So the demo doesn't count). To say this as politely as I possibly can, I think you owe all your backers at least that much. And for the record, I wasn't interested in any other games you were trying to get additional funding for as that was not what I or anyone else backed when they helped fund "Days Of Dawn".
The silence is deafening Tassilo.
I guess this game is dead then... almost 1 year since the previous update and it had zilch all to do w/ this project..
I'll chalk this up to a very expensive life experience on KS along w/ Untold Story.
Bumblebee still have a link to their Patreon
"Become a Patreon and get pre-release access to Days of Dawn!"
This has been my worst Kickstarter experience, from the development to updates to behavior. Disgusting.
Just found this on Days of Dawn's FB page, written on March 19th in response to the question what happened to the game:
"Unfortunately develeopement had to be delayed for the time being. We hope to have good news in the future. Please stay tuned and thanks for your interest."
wow I had totally forgotten this game even existed until I realised I didnt have it. So whats up? Are we going to get an update? A game? A puff of smoke in the wind? Left you guys too it, but 3 years now is pushing it.
Such a shame. I wanted Bumblebee to succeed. Then came the redesign and the side projects, and Days of Dawn's release looked further and further away. :(
No content or updates since the Villager game... the websites have been inactive since last year. The company FB in the same state and pretty much the only small life I can see... is an update patch to that villagers game on Steam + the anouncement on Tas's personal FB about its Early Access release on FB..
Welp... I guess I can kiss my 100 bucks goodbye at this rate =/
Is this project on hold so you can earn money with other projects that you then can use to finish this game or what is up with Days of Dawn?
You should not treat your backers that way!
So its now 1/2 a year ago after we got any new info at all (even it was about a complete different game) but now nothing have this team forgotten about this Kickstarter or what?
Any news at all? It's been months since last update...
Soo... is this project still being worked on? So far all I see on Bumblebee is *another* game being developed besides this one... any actual news would be nice?
I thought I'd do an inventory of older KS projects I've backed and this has been one of those silent one's I've been neglecting.
It's been several months since we've received an update. What is going on?
@JdH - they are definitely working on other games, as just shared in the latest update. Looks like that's the new project.
I also wrote a message end of March requesting that version here on kick starter (private message to bumblebee, creator of the campaign), and got no response - if you find the time you should read and answer the PNs there, I'm pretty sure there are more than us 2 ;-)
Sorry, but where did you contact us? Seems to have gone lost. Please send us a mail to tassilo (at) bumblebee minus games dot com. Sorry and thank you!
After the 'release' of the 16 bit version I contacted them to get a version... never heard anything. Man, they never released anything, right? Not even some first level or so. Is there a legal way to get the money back? I mean, if the game is not good, ok, bad investment, but releasing nothing sounds like a scam to me. Does someone know about the legal ways?
They just posted an update for one of their other games (Oh my gore - http://www.bumblebee-games.com/blog/ ) so at least the company is not completely dead...
Well I guess there hat to be some failing projects after all...
No news in a long time now. :(
This was just posted on 11/24 and apparently this is where the updates will be made going forward.
the official email address of bumblebee is: firstname.lastname@example.org
It's now officially the worst game project I backed. i'm not against delays but no communication is the worst...
Last info we got here is from July that the team have to start over with a new engine but then nothing! So what's the status of this project?
Stuff like this is why I no longer back Kickstarter games or participate in Early Access.
Looking for signs of life, I have checked out your FB page. You are working on a new game? Hmm...What about Days of Dawn then? I agree with Iridium Studios. We backers want an update.
Allright, the latest update was on the 28th of July, two whole months went by without an update. What's up or down?
Update your backers, guys. Even if the news is bad, you owe us that much.
What's the latest?
What is happening? What's the game status?
Any status update?
Any chance of a Wii U port?
bad news is bad news :(
No news are bad news?
Dear MrFatso and everybody else, feel invited to send me a message here on Kickstarter and I'll give you a hands-on update about the ongoings, troubles and goals. And yes - we will finally be able to talk about the closed beta - and some more cool stuff.
so, any update on the beta version? It's been a while since may 2013 update #37 when a beta was mentioned, since then, until feb update #50 where it was mentioned a playable build.
So, is it the close beta that we signed up for?
Could we get another update please? I understand how things can fall way behind, but it sure would be nice to hear from you, even if the news isn't all that great.
This is making me very, very sad. Believe me, if there' anybody being pissed, it's me. I founded this company because of and for Days of Dawn. It was a dream come true - and it still is.
Everything is progressing great - except for the actual code. I'm no coder myself, so I'm dependent on people doing their job. But: change is imminent. We have just taken the step of revamping our coding department. Expect an in-depth post very soon. Days of Dawn is alive and it will come to you. We're doing everything (believe me, we really do) to make it come true as soon as possible.
