We've all been making music in its various forms for many years, and it feels like it has all been building up to this one record. It's a cohesive album with stories that recall old loves, new loves, family, distance, trial, jobs, money, being young and getting older, and ultimately the ablility to overcome and "Be Glad" for all of it. It's a nice way of looking down this windy road that led us here.
Unfortunately, it takes money to press and market an album. Some of you may recall that we recorded and released The Curried Rice EP in March of last year and gave it away for FREE.This is because we decided not to physically press it. (Pressing=manufacturing) We felt it was more important for us to get to know our sound and our fans, cultivate our audience and spread the love and music digitally at no cost before selling our product.
Since then we have practiced, written, refined, practiced more, gigged our butts off, practiced more, spent hours in the studio, and at last! Here we are, looking at the piece of art that we all made together. We just need your help for that final step! Art requires community, as art in itself is a conversation between people. By donating you join us in that conversation.
We are so SO Glad for all of it.

Risks and challenges
Once we have raised all the funding we need to press and market the album (illustrations, photography, studio time, manufacturing costs etc.) our biggest challenge is getting it in the hands of the public. We believe firmly in the quality of our product, and having the widest audience possible is very important to us. We want you to like it- not just like it, but really, really like it- enough to tell your friends about us, to come to our shows, to support our music and be our fans. The biggest risk we take is not being able to distribute the album as well as we would like, but it is a challenge we are constantly brainstorming ways to overcome.
Of course, there are the issues of logistics. Mixing and mastering the album could take longer than anticipated. Ordering the albums for print around the holidays may create problems. Weather could prevent the execution of our CD release show… these are all issues we have taken into account and are working toward preventing any way we can.
We aren't just banking financially on this project, we've put our whole selves into it. But that's what's exciting about making art. Sometimes you have to just be brutally honest and exposed, and know deep down that there are people out there that need you to be, that might relate to what you have to sing about, or might be uplifted by a beat or a melody. We want to put this album into the hands of those people, and hopefully the love will spread.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
