THE WORLD'S FIRST CHASIDIC INDIE ROCK GIRL BAND
Yes, It’s true. No, this is not the punchline of some corny joke. We are, as far as we know, the world’s first Chasidic women’s rock band. We're Perl and Dalia, the leaders of the band Bulletproof Stockings, and we’re big believers in both rocking the music scene and not rolling on Shabbos!

AREN'T YOU THAT BAND...?
We've been fortunate to get caught in the limelight due to the many unusual facets of our story. So if you’ve heard about us before, you might know us as “that band that doesn’t play for men.”
The theological short of it is this: Jewish men have a mitzvah (commandment) not to hear the singing voice of women outside their immediate families; however, it's up to the men to choose to abide by that commandment or not. As women, we can sing and play wherever we want. And we also share our music on record for anyone who wants to listen.
Women need a space to rock out. Sisterhood is a huge part of our lives and our community. We got this idea of playing shows where women can feel completely free to dance and party and have a great time with awesome music.
Though we have many male fans, our mission at these concerts is to create a unique space for ALL WOMEN - regardless of religious affiliation, lack thereof, astrological sign or shoe size ;) - to relax, rock out freely, and let out the inner dork/diva/wallflower in full bravado! These live shows are for women...but the music is for everyone.

OUR FIRST FULL-LENGTH ALBUM…FOR EVERYONE!
Here's "Off Track," another track from our first EP:
Over the past couple of years, we've been growing and deepening our vision - playing shows, building a fan base, and most importantly, writing songs and developing our style.
Now it’s time to take it to the next level: we’re ready to go full throttle into the studio to make a full-length record. We just need your support to make it happen.
The process is already underway. Down at Strange Weather Studios with Marc Alan Goodman at the wheel and Howie Feibusch (Howard, Orange Television) at the helm, we have recorded our first single, "Mind Clear", which will be ready for release very soon for you Kickstarter angels.
We chose our target for two very specific reasons:
1. We ran the numbers, and that's the amount of money we need to make the album.
2. In Judaism, the number 18 is the numerical value of the word "chai" which means "life." Because of this, many Jews give charity in multiples of 18. 36 is two times 18 - double life!
Every bit of this campaign will go towards letting us make the amazing album we’ve been planning. Your backing will pay for stuff like:
- recording in a great-sounding professional studio
- paying our talented engineer & producer
- paying extra musicians
- mixing, mastering, and producing CDs
The papers have kindly flashed our name and lots of ideas about us, being the first Chasidic Rock Girl Band anyone's ever heard of and all...but the best part about that is getting to connect with you! What we love most about making music is sharing our experience and connecting on a basic level about the themes that affect us all.
Thanks so much for taking the time to check out our music and our campaign. We’ve got some great rewards, including access to the record and our previous EP, as well as some other really special stuff. We'll be eternally grateful if you decide to back our project or share it with your friends.

Risks and challenges
Our goal is to finish the album by August 2015. Potential obstacles to reaching that goal could be:
- Each song is unique, some tracks will take longer to produce than others.
- Strange Weather Studio is incredibly beautiful and incredibly popular, so we must work with their schedule as far as choosing dates to record.
Even though we all have very hefty and varying schedules, we are fully committed to making this album a reality, and getting it to our fans as soon as humanly possible! We will be posting snippets of practice sessions, live concert clips, in-studio pics, personal video updates etc throughout the campaign to keep our fans involved and up-to-date on where we're holding. We can't wait to share our music with you, so keep your ears perked, and your dancing shoes in reach :)!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
